I first heard the song while driving and thought "that sounds like David Cook!" The song was awesome and when the DJ said it was him I couldn't wait to get the CD! Now that I have the CD I play it all the time. I was a fan from the beginning of American Idol. I don't usually watch much TV, but I never missed American Idol and I couldn't wait to see him perform every week. It was what I looked forward to every week. I was disappointed when his couple of minutes were up! I wish he could have sung all night! I just love his voice and watching him perform. I was always wondering "what is he going to do with this song" ?. I was in tears also when he won...the finale was so wonderful! I was so happy for him. I still keep replaying the video where he was crowned AI and him singing "Time of My Life"...how appropriate! And it still brings tears to my eyes.
David, if you read these things, just want to let you know how great I think you are! You really touched a lot of people. Keep up the good work! Look forward to seeing you in concert!

I think everyone has The Right To "Interpert" The Song However.....As Long As We Get What We Want Out Of The Song....That What Matters....I have heard a lot of complaints it all good to wish and to wish that David or His "Crew" and "Director" Of "The Music Video" would interpert The Song the way we would want it to be......"But that impossible...When you read a book,not everyone going to get The Same Interperation of The Book we would all see different things In The Book,Yes The Same Facts but we all see it differently,we might not agree but we aren't The Same Person Either...so how can we come up with The Same Conclusion Of The Song...You also,have to take into consideration that there are different writers to The Songs...Everyone sees The Song as a way to express their own emotions...so to me it really hard to come up with such a "Main Theme"...I Like "The Music Video "Lights On" It Simple...If your interperation didn't match..."Just Enjoy The Song" Think of Your Interperation..."Think Of The Military..and pray for them as you listen To The Song...at The Same Time...You will get blessed more then if you saw your interperation come to life...It what we do with "The Interperation Of The Song... that really matters...We do need to keep "The Military into our prayers...so thanks for That interperation...

After several days of ingesting Light On, It suddenly occured to me that this would have been the perfect lead song for a Bourne Identity movie. Hauntingly powerful words and music.
Once I made the connection I actually cried when I listened, overwhelming visuals.
I just hope they can find a movie worthy of using this song for the lead song on the soundtrack.

I had to listen a couple of times, thought at first -hmmm? On further listening I really liked it.
I think I was surprised at first that it was a bit 'pop'. I do think it is really catchy and should do well on the charts. It's a great vehicle for David's voice-he sounds fantastic.
I wondered if the musical backing was a bit overwhelming,not that you lost his voice, no way, it just seemed very grand backing. Certainly when David sings to just a keyboard accompaniment in a slightly lower key it is extremely beautiful. I'm not convinced that sits so well in the whole peice. I do hope we hear more of that accoustic style on his album, alongside the more full on stuff rather than in the middle of a big voiced song---just my opinion.
But hey, I get it and I will go now and listen more and become addicted I suspect.
