So where on here can I find the lyrics to the rest of the songs on the CD? My own personal CD liner notes (SQUEAL....they're not really just for me, but I can pretend they are) say that I should come to DCO for the rest of the lyrics.

This is a GREAT song! I was a little surprised that the chorus came in so quickly after the first verse, but it still works well and changes up the flow a bit.

When I first downloaded the single on iTunes, I hadn't seen the video. My interpretation of the message brought to mind the vision of a Sailor or Marine being deployed and the struggle of leaving a loved one behind again; waiting. The words fit perfectly with the feelings experienced during the point of leaving and the longing for the return. (I thought it read: "eyes to the sea," instead of: "seasons.")

Anyway, I don't usually write anyone as a fan, but I HAD to voice my opinion on how this song can speak to a special audience; our troops and those leaving a light on, praying they find their way home.

Marketing this as a tribute to the troops and their families would be a very "American" thing for an "Idol" to do.

Well, just my 2 cents worth - keep up the awesome music; David's voice is magic!

Last night my 13 year old daughter and I were at the Hard Rock Cafe in NYC for a charity event sponsored by MLB NY Mets player David Wright. While we were there she met with David Cook one on one for a little over five minutes. She gave him a gift bag (he was very thankful and sincere) with a musical (bad to the bone) birthday card (december 20th) and other items (framed photo of herself and her younger sister from the baltimore AI show, christmas ornament shaped like a rock guitar player, reindeer antler head band and blinking red nose (both of which he playfully wore), and two christmas cards in self-addressed stamped envelopes with a note asking him to please sign the cards and drop them in the mail). He talked with her a bit, signed things for her, were photographed together on stage, even hung out for about ten minutes with DC's mom and dad while David was doing the red carpet walk earlier in the evening. Mr and Mrs Stan and Vicki Cook are two of the kindest and friendly people you will ever meet. They took my daughter under their wing that evening and really genuinely cared about making this a special moment. Then David and his band did a concert. We were standing right up front at the foot of center stage. Within arms reach. She got lots of pictures and video. She also caught a guitar pick that was thrown into the audience.

I think I am a shoe-in for Dad Of The Year. It was magical. Thank you David, Stan, and Vicki

Also looking forward to hearing what you did with Raine Maida. He's such a great guy and great artist. I'm a little late seeing this website and signing up...but better late than never. Light On is really good! I think someone on this website said..."you've brought ROCK back". They were right. I really believe that you're an American Idol that is about to become a World Idol. Must be an amazing feeling following your dreams and doing something that makes your heart race. A lot of work and hours and hours of PR and recording ...but it's a ride that is worth every taxing moment I'm sure. Stay real and stay close to who you are inside. That's the difficult part...the rest comes easy. Your family and close friends will keep you grounded. And takes a lot of vacation if you can. (Not in Canada...we're heading toward snow shovelling days soon. ugh!)

With a new President and a new "awakening"....the future for all of us will no doubt see some change.. I believe a true "American Idol" is one who gives hope to everyone they touch. Whether they be a leader or an artist. And from the moment you stepped on stage and on TV, you seemed to have something really special. I think people could hear it in your voice and see it in your eyes.

We are very happy for you...all the way out here in Barrie, Ontario Canada! Cannot wait to hear the rest of your songs on Nov. 18th. That's IF I can get a copy that day. haha.

I justheard a couple of short clips from DC's album,courtesy of a friend. WOW! If you loved his Idol performances but also were amazed by Analog Heart, then this new CD will make you very happy. Kudos to David Cook for making something that works and has songs for everyone. I am SO pleased--there's stuff there that I like even better than LO and MD.

David and Chris Cornell totally rocked the lyrics. They are terrific!

When I first heard the song on SNL, I could not help but think of the struggle with cancer that AC has had and did not think of it as the romantic version the video is making it out to be. I was surprised to learn that it was being portrayed that way. Just goes to show how subjective lyrics can be.

David- really enjoy your music and have been a big supporter of what you do since I first saw you on American Idol. I can't imagine the whirl wind your life has experienced since you started there and wish you well on your journey.

I LOVE THIS SONG and I LOVE DAVID COOK! "Light On" is awesome and I wouldn't have expected anything less from an amazing artist like David Cook! This song is totally perfect for him! I can't wait until the debut of his CD. I know it's going to be fantastic! Everything that this guy does is amazing! He is such a versatile artist and I give him a lot of credit for not doing the same thing over and over again like a lot of the artists today. He is going to be HUGE! He is also incredibly sexy with that crooked little smile of his and the way he sings and looks into the camera with those smouldering eyes of his. It's almost as if he's looking right at me. I can't take it! I'm hungry for a Cookie right about now! Yummmmmmy!
