Crash Kings

Crash Kings

I LOVE Crash Kings after I heard of them through David. They rock. I went to one of their concerts and it was awesome!

Anyone else fans? Wanna chat?

This thread hasn't seen the light of day in many moons, LOL. Just wanted to say that CK still exist. They played a charity event at Hard Rock Cafe Hollywood last night and blew the roof off that place. It felt so good to see them again. Been way too long. They played a couple of new tunes along with many of our favorites. Fabulous show!! Looking forward to their new CD next year.

Crash Kings will be at this year's EarthFest in Boston on May 22
Other bands include Collective Soul, Gin Blossoms, Marcy Playground, plus a local band opens the show.
This is a FREE event

For those in the St Louis area, CK are playing PointFest at the Verizon on June 6. 29 bands for 29 bucks. Great value.

Thanks Jeannine, that's one sexy music video! Love that it's performance-based, and not some lame theme. Love it so much I liked it to my facebook profile.

Did you see their new video of Mountain Man? I loved it.

"Mountain Man" holds onto #1 on alternative for a 2nd week! Mediabase will publish these numbers for the week: http://bit.ly/TdPTq

Cathryn, Crash Kings have two demos that they play when they headline, and often close their shows with a great cover of Black Sabbath's "War Pigs." Basically, when they top the bill and have to play 75 minutes, they're forced to play everything they've got! The entire CK album, the two demos (there are youtubes of them floating around), and War Pigs. I think with "Mountain Main" at #1 on alternative, and the album now selling nicely (I don't think it's in the BB200 but it's not far out of it), they might release another single in a few months. Debut bands that show promise often get that kind of a shot (as GRO is getting, and as Caroliina Liar got, even though their albums didn't remain in the BB200). I think CK will concentrate on new music later this year.

"...Are they putting out any new music?"

Not at the moment. I asked Tony about that and he said they want to tour for this CD for a while. They do have a couple of songs they sing that aren't on the CD.

Heh, can't wait for these guys to hit the East Coast again soon.
Are they putting out any new music?

Scott: Heres just a small ditty on TCK at South by Southwest. Also I have provided a link to a band who has billed with them before and in the future thats a great band too.

Such great news. Well deserved!!

As expected, Billboard will publish "Mountain Main" as #1 in alternative this week. In fact, Crash Kings made headlines at billboard.com tonight: http://bit.ly/aBLPWc

ETA: here it is! http://www.billboard.com/#/charts/alternative-songs

They did it! Crash King's "Mountain Man" is number 1 on alternative rock this week! Made the published mediabase chart. It will be fun to look at billboard.com this Thursday!

Holy Crap, Scott! That is fantastic!!! Thanks for the great news!

Jeannine

Ready for this? You sitting down? Crash King's "Mountain Man" just hit #1 on alternative, and will likely remain there for tomorrow's published chart! AI of 6 million (which is good for alternative).

Well deserved! I love that song. Great tune.

Jeannine

More good news! "Mountain Man" went up to #2 on Alternative yesterday, and that's it's published ranking for the week! WooHoo!

Great news, Scott! I want this band to absolutely soar. So well deserved!

Jeannine

Looks like for this week's published mediabase chart, "Mountain Man" will land at #3 on alternative! WooHoo! Working its way to the top of the chart.

That is great news, Scott! So well deserved! I want to see those guys take off. They have what it takes.

Jeannine

"Mountain Man" has reached #8 on alternative rock!
In Southern California, KROQ has added it and it's up to #25 on their yes.com chart positoin! They play it daily here in the #2 market (so does a smaller station in the Inland Empire).
Woo Hoo!

I saw Crash Kings in Boston, once as an opener (too short) and once as the headliner, which was fantastic! I am very intrigued by the sound of the Clavinet and Tony's singing. I love the whole group. I shot a few video's that have awful sound, but I may put one up anyway just to see them performing.

I'm not sure if there is a way to purchase their merch other than at their shows. They usually have shirts, etc.

Jeannine

Ever since I saw them in concert (Valentines day) I have been in LOVE with them. (TONY, OMG.) Not as much as DC of course, but its nice to have something fresh once and awhile. I have been getting sick of a few other bands, and I needed a new sound in the mix, and they BROUGHT IT! I LOVE them.
I've been trying to get my hands on a tshirt...I didnt see any for sale at the show I went to. I didn't look around much though. If you guys know where to get one other than a show, that would be great.

They are playing up in Wrightwood 2/26. Free concert at Mountain High Resort. My hubby and I are going to try to make it up the hill and see them.

They are definitely one of my very favorite bands. Love, love, love their songs. If I had to pick my favorites, it would be difficult because I love absolutely every song they have on their CD. I guess, though, if I had to pick my very favorite, it would be You Got Me. Killer song.

I hope to see these boys make it big someday. They are truly unique and I can't get enough of their sound. I play their CD a lot. I'm surprised I haven't worn it out yet, LOL.

Jeannine

I had a Crash Kings shirt, but someone took it off my arm when I was waiting for david.
I hope they become big this year, and I hope to seem them in concert again

Ah Yep. Love this band. My favorite songs are "Only Wednesday" "Mountain Man" "1985" and "My Love" Nice eclectic unique band. And 2 of them are brothers! I have missed seeing them both times they have come to FL. Gone on business trips. So sad. They were right at my back door on Jan. 22nd and I was pulled into another trip to Atlanta. Boo!

Huge, huge, huge Crash Kings fan. Also discovered them through David. Downloaded their CD on itunes in early-to-mid summer, just before they joined David on the tour. He had talked them up and so I had sampled them already. Loved the album immediately and then finally saw them open for David at the Oregon State Fair in Salem on Labor Day weekend. Then again their final show with David in Hollywood a few days later (of course after the show I bought a hard copy CD & got it autographed, plus a T-shirt).

I've seen them 4 times since they left the Declaration Tour... twice opening for another act, and finally, headlining their own tour at great clubs (including LA's Viper Room). They OWN it when they headline. Huge crowds really get loud. They play for 1 hr 20 min and that forces them to play every.single.song they know. The entire album plus a couple of new demos and a great cover of Black Sabbath's "War Pigs."

I'm hoping this is a big year for them and that Mountan Man start's charting on radio.

My favorite songs are "Non-Believer," "Only Wednesday," "Saving Grace" and "My Love." Eh, throw in "14 Arms" as well. Love 'em all but those are my go-to songs most often.

I just am shocked that they're not very popular. They are so awesome...I have been obsessed with the record the last week or so.

Love them. I saw them when they came to Seattle with David back in August. I met them after the show, I ran into them by the merch table, had them sign their CD that I bought and took picturesm and chatted for awhile, really nice guys, and quite funny.
