Yay, I hope my tickets come soon!! Does anybody know if theres a meet and greet before, or after the show????? Any hopes of getting backstage passes? My birthday is 2 days after the show, so maybe, if i see him before, i could tell him..... Be really cool if he mentioned my birthday Laughing out loud lol. I hope my seats are really good, even though i know where i'm sitting buit still lol. If anybody knows anything about a meet and greet, message me please! Thanks,

Ok, all I know about the VIP tickets is: we get a close parking space, a bathroom! hehehehe (did they know I have an aversion for public bathrooms?), and some munchies, that is it! I have no idea where I will be seated, but I hope they are good seats.

My husband says that it's a small venue (1000) and I will be going alone =( hubby will be away on business...that is why I wanted to go to the Galveston so we could have a weekend get away, but oh well, at least I can make a fool out of myself without a witness! hehehe

How old are your kids? how long have you been a Cookie fan? I'm a "newby" never watched American Idol...so I'm a brand new fan that is getting kind of vociferous on all the YouTube and VH1 sites, leaving comments and showing my support for this amazing showman with the aged whisky growl...sigh...

My last comment will be that: now I'm alive! after having a little cancer (nothing major) I went through a little grieving period that took two years, and he: Mr Cook- has taken me out of the rut that I was in, so I'm greatful to him and his music that has healed my soul...and giving me energy to exercise and feel better about myself: that is why I love David Cook-Showman extraordinaire =)

Ivonne:
That's interesting about the VIP tickets. Looking at the seating chart, I wonder if it is the rear sections of plats E through H, since there is a weird opening in plat F that may indicate a stairwell. I remember noticing that the whole rear section of plat H was blocked off/sold out when I purchased my tickets, even though we got 6th row seats in the front of that section. (The seating chart I am refering to is the one shown on the Chesaning website, not the StarTickets.com one.) There are also sections further back, that could be elevated seating.)

That is so cool that your first concert is the one following the EEB's vacation. I agree that they will be rested and will put on an awesome show!

I have some of David's AI studio recordings, but not all of them. I, too, wish they could still be purchased. Sigh.

ETA: I was wrong about there being a stairwell in section F. The blocked off area designates a sound booth, instead of seats. Now I have no idea where the platform seating for the VIPs would be!

TwistsAndTurns, I have no idea where exactly the VIP ticket holders sit, all I know is that they are on a platform...(my in laws got the tickets as a surprise for me, and Ihave no idea where the seats are at!)
It's nice that your husband is tolerant of your love for DC, my husband is too! He was the one that asked his dad to get the tickets, mind you...I live in Texas! so it's a very special treat from all of them to me =)

I was looking at the event schedule, and was very happy to see that my first concert (San Diego) is right after a two week vacation for the band! great to know that hopefully they will be rested and ready to start the grueling pace again!

Now...I almost changed my mind about going to Chesaning once I found out that he is going to play a concert in Galveston (3 hrs away from my home) but heck, I tried getting front row seats, and no luck! so I'm keeping the Chesaning tickets!

On another note, I've requested all his studio songs be brought back on Itunes...I hope they listen and give me a chance of purchasing these great recordings! Wish me luck!

Take care,

Ivonne

Thank you for the information on the newspaper website. I was able to locate the article you were talking about. Maybe the newspaper will have more information as the concert gets closer. I might also call the Chesaning Showboat phone number and ask about the opening act.

This will also be my 2nd concert; the first was at Niagara Falls in March. There was no opening act for that one and it was very short. I was disappointed because I took the time to look into Ryan Star's music and became a fan of his, hoping he would be there too. It was a very long drive (7 hours) for just a one-hour concert. Although, Dave and the EEB were awesome, of course!

I want to know who will open for David so that I can check them out too. My kids (and husband) will also be going to Chesaning and it helps if they are familiar with all of the music before then.

I am curious...where do those with VIP tickets sit for this concert? I thought about looking into the VIP tickets, but did fairly well with regular seating. Our tickets are for the 6th row, section H (Andy's side of the stage.)

I also have tickets for the Allegan County Fair concert in September. I know...I'm hopelessly in love with David Cook. And I am so lucky because I have one of those sweet, tolerant husbands.

TwistandTurns:

My hubby gets his town's newspaper delivered in Texas via mail. The newspaper's name is Tri-County Citizen, and yes, it's on line at: tricountycitizen.com. The article is in page 4. If you can't find it, e-mail me at lightonforcookie@live.com and I can send you a PDF file.
Are you going?

Yes, LightOnForCookie, please tell us what you find out.

Also...is your local newspaper on-line? I would love to read the article, if you don't mind sharing the name of the newspaper. Or was it just an ad?

Thanks!

I am reading the town's newspaper, and it does mention an opening act; however, it doesn't say who...all it says that starts at 7:30 and Cookie starts at 9:00pm.
I can ask my mother in law...?

Does anyone know if there will be an opening act for this concert?

David! this will be my second concert after San Diego! wohoo!

You are invited to stay at my in-laws farm =)

Your globetrotting fan~~

PS Why don't you have a concert in Madrid-Spain, so I can visit my sister, since this is turning out to be visiting family and see you in concerts! =)
