  • For my last stop on the Declaration Tour I decided to head to Canada and make it a vacation/adventure with my partner in crime Amalama/Happy Dance. The trip got off to a curious start when the customs officials at the Toronto airport were less than impressed with my travel plans including meeting someone from the internet and traveling around the country to David Cook concerts. At one point I really did think I was going to get detained for doing nothing wrong but once I showed them my tickets and all my reservations I was let go.

  • Thanks for your recap. I'm so glad I got to meet you! It really was an epic weekend. Dave trance totally happened to me too, maybe I'll be more articulate on the next tour. I unsuccessfully tried to find you on twitter...so look me up @tigervixxxen

  • Thanks you for taking the time to write this up and to share your story. I loved all the detail in it and I am so glad you were able to put the experience in words. You are very brave to go all the way to the concert and to tell David your story. And yes, please post more, you have a wonderful way with words.

  • Thanks so much for the recap. I really enjoyed all of your details and thoughts. I'm sorry you couldn't enjoy watching Andy this time. I hope you get to see him again soon. I know how disconcerting it is to not have a show for a while and have an unsettled feeling. I hope it gets resolved. Even though I was there I kind of understand what you mean. I *almost* went to this show because it is one of the cheapest and easiest places to get to from Denver but I opted for more of an adventure and vacation with Canada. And I'm already glad I made the switch.

  • Thanks for your thoughts. I saw a Daughtry concert in August, one of the smaller club shows and was curious what the arena show was like. I enjoy Daughtry's music so I can say that I had a great time at his show and if anyone is interested in reading it I put it in a blog on my account here. I was front row in GA at the club so that probably makes a difference translating to a large arena. I noticed there were some differences between David and Daughtry and how he didn't banter much. But I've seen a few concerts this year and the banter ranges wildly between bands.

  • Thanks again for making the blog, there are a lot of good thoughts here. I'm not sure I'd rate FYE higher than you do, as a dance song it gets the job done and as a pop song it isn't annoying in a way you want to change the station, but is it a fantastic song, I'm not so sure. You know, I really don't know why certain pop songs are super successful and others are not. Seems like a lot of it is based on name recognition or the hook has to be totally stick-in-your-brain-drive-you-crazy (Womanizer, I Gotta Feeling) or provocative (like I Kissed a Girl or Don't Trust a Ho).
