  • To those who've slammed eilonwy and her post here, and in her defense:

  • That's really not a whole lot of TV appearances. I mean, it's good, and it's "the usual suspects," but none of the daytime syndicated talk shows or VH1. Unless they're just not listed here. then again, maybe Daughtry has always kept it to the late-night circuit and hasn't done all the daytime shows the way David has (multiple times, at that). I'm hoping David gets some more high-profile sports promos & usages. Maybe even some guest spots on ESPN again.

  • It is a very consistent phenomenon, I'll give you that. I do believe there is something to it. I suppose all I can do is offer some reasons why David may break that mold. I sure hope he does and so I look for possible scenarios.

Let's get Kelly Clarkson out of the way. She broke the that pattern. Her downslide happened later... 3rd album a true slump, 4th album doing much better than 3rd but nowhere near the first two. She is saved by killer radio play and killer singles sales (3 platinum singles so far off her most recent album). So right there you have an anomaly.

  • I want vocals stressed a little more this time. David should rock it up, but please put those vocals out there! Green Day's Billy Joe Armstrong has strong vocals on every track. Death Cab for Cutie - amazing vocals. Kings Of Leon has some really cool vocal things going on, especially in their two big hit singles from this past year. This is David's "thing." He won AI based largely on stellar vocals! My one complaint about DCTR is that his vocals get lost in too many songs. CBTM especially.

  • I agree, go for the performer. Yes, I go to Burn Halo and Phil Marshall and GRO and if any Anthemic members are in LA, sure it's fun to see them. But I never want to intrude. I say hi, give a knuckle/fist tap, and move on. Let them enjoy themsleves and the show, and don't be rude to the performer. I have no problem with that because honestly, I enjoy Ryan's shows about as much as David's. They're different and have a different vibe. Not a competition - they're both my boys. But when I'm there to see Ryan, it's all about Ryan. When I'm there to see Phil, it's all about Phil.
