LIGHT ON David Cook

Well, a new day dawns with more Light On! Man do I love this song! As a testiment to his range as an artist - David continues to grow and evolve. I've read comments on others sites about people thinking this isn't "rock enough" or "isn't like what he did on American Idol"... well, no it's not! These people are obviously not fans of David Cook and haven't listened to the progression of his music. From the beloved "Grunge Dave" of the Axium/MWK era to the soulful rock vibe of Analog Heart - he has continued to change as a musician, but always kept a quintessential part of David Cook in everything that he does. The new single, Light On, sounds like a continued progression from his Analog Heart album. I have no doubt that there will be songs for everyone on the new album!

I think the Analog Heart songs were some of David's best and I feel like Light On is a progression from that. On another site, i think someone gave the best review for this song: this song is a transition for the "magic rainbow" fans to david as his own artist. No, it's not as rock as it could be, but I like it that way. The song shows a nice range and for the most part, it holds true to david's style. Plus, it's pretty catchy--the kind of song that only gets better the more times you listen to it=) (Knock on wood) but i feel like the album will be a hit...light on sure is!
