Hey everyone. Just checking in to give you guys an update on everything...
First off, we are sad to announce that Joey will no longer be playing bass for us. We are certainly sad to see him go, and wish him nothing but the best as he moves on to his next musical endeavor. Our good friend, Monty Anderson, will be filling in for the immediate future while we attempt, amidst the shows ahead, to find a permanent, viable replacement.
Welcome to the Finnish site of David Cook. Here you will find local news about events and David, videos, photos and much more. Hope you enjoy!
In the wake of this season's "American Idol" finale, David opened up for MTV and spoke from the heart about his experience on the show last season and the truly deep connection he feels with this year's finalists:
"Lambert and I both have that side-swoop-bang thing going on, so there's that. I guess Kris and Archie have similar haircuts too. It's all about the hair, guys."
All jokes aside, though, you'll definitely want to check out this entire interview! Watch David speak about the story of his music career below!
For more on how David's musical aspirations have remained fundamentally the same throughout this epic journey of his that began just over a year ago, be sure to check out the full story on MTV.com!
David Cook has announced plans to extend his first ever solo tour, "The Declaration Tour – 2009," through October 2009, with confirmed dates on sale now till August 21st... Touring in support of his platinum selling, self-titled debut album (19 Recordings / RCA Records), Cook has been criss-crossing the country since February 2009.
As reported in Billboard.com, David Cook just completed a feat previously achieved by only two other male solo artists at the Adult Top 40 format: collecting his third top 10, as "Come Back to Me" moves from #11 to #10 this week.
David's introductory single, "Time of My Life," last year's "American Idol" victory song, reached No. 7, and its follow-up, "Light On," peaked at No. 4. All three songs appear on David's self-titled debut album, which bowed at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 in December and has sold 1,174,000 copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Check out MTV's article to see David's reaction to the loss of Michael Jackson and the question posed, "Would David Cook have won the seventh season of American Idol if it weren't for Michael Jackson?" Read the full article here. (And yes, we know they spelled David's name wrong. We're on it)
I wanted to write everyone and say a few things, in light of recent events, to dispel any misinformation that may be circulating and to say thank you on behalf of my family and myself to everyone who has shown even the slightest bit of support to us and our efforts as a family to help eradicate this terrible affliction.
My brother, Adam, passed away at 11:52pm Eastern, May 2nd. He was 37 years old and leaves behind his wife and two children. We had played Sunfest in West Palm Beach that night, walking off stage at approximately 11:00pm Eastern, and I rushed to get on a plane to fly to Washington D.C., to be a part of the Race For Hope-D.C., a fundraiser for research and development of a cure for brain cancer. I learned of Adam’s passing upon getting to my hotel around 3:00am Eastern. I decided to run in the race, despite all of this, for two reasons. First, my brother never wanted his illness to affect others. That was evident in the fact that he wanted his illness to have no part in my experience on Idol, a point he was quite adamant about. So, with that wish in mind, I ran and was involved with the event as an homage to him. Secondly, there are many people who are still battling, and by running and sharing my brother’s story, I hope that it offers those still fighting that much more resolve to not succumb to this wretched disease.
I want to again thank everyone who donated to the race and continues to donate, sent a kind email, posted thoughts and prayers, called, etc. I take it as affirmation that my brother was the great man that I knew, and whose ideals I constantly try to uphold in myself. It is with those ideals in tow that I vow to continue to speak out in hopes of raising whatever necessary to help eliminate cancer entirely.
Also, I mentioned earlier that Adam never wanted his illness to affect anyone. So, with the exception of our Toledo, OH, show on May 6th, which we will do everything possible to reschedule, all other shows will go on as scheduled.
Lastly, thank you to everyone for allowing us, as a family, to grieve and come to terms privately. This event has shown me, beyond doubt, that I have the greatest people in my life, family, friends, and fans alike, and for that, I can never offer enough thanks.

OK, as I write this, I am putting the finishing touches on gift wrapping for the first time in literally 3 years. It’s been amazing just to be able to buy gifts this year, as opposed to convincing my brother to throw my name on things, and I’ll pay him back. (Which I never could…). By the way, I’m still holding out hope that he forgot about my little IOU, so keep it to yourself…
I ran out of space in my horn of plenty….
I am writing this blog from about 35000 feet in the air as I travel back to LA, concluding my trip to Kansas City for Thanksgiving. Just to help paint a picture for you….
Here are the lyrics to the new single courtesy of David! This is a DavidCookOfficial.com exclusive!!
LIGHT ON
Never really said too much
Afraid it wouldn’t be enough
Just try to keep my spirits up
When there’s no point in grieving
Doesn’t matter anyway
Words could never make me stay
Words will never take my place
When you know I’m leaving
Try to leave a light on when I’m gone
Something I rely on to get home
One I can feel at night
A naked light, a fire to keep me warm
Try to leave a light on when I’m gone
Even in the daylight, shine on
The new single name is officially announced....drum roll please......."LIGHT ON"
Hope everyone loves it as much as we do!

Hey Guys,
I wanted to drop a note and answer a few emails that I’ve been getting! I can’t thank you guys enough for all the sign-ups and emails pertaining to the website. And thanks to everyone who came out on the tour. As you know, the AI tour has ended and although it was sad to sing together for the last time in Tulsa, we had a blast all summer.....
So, I promised that I wouldn't really try to process all of this madness until I got an extended break, but something happened today that really made me reflect. Well, I may be getting too generic. A lot of small things have happened lately that correlated into some fresh perspective. Let me explain…
