We're happy to report that late tonight http://www.davidcookofficial.com will be switched over to its own server to avoid any future crashes. We'd like to thank everyone for their patience as we've been tweaking the nuts and bolts for one of the most popular sites in the entire Sony BMG family!

Please note that the site will be offline from approximately 2am - 4am EST (Thursday AM) to make the full switch.

Web Nerds: Having technical glitches!

I am having technical glitches with trying to upload a photo on here and the message says website under maninteance. It took me a while to get one photo uploaded on here. Not sure what's up with that!

Haha -- how awesome are David's fans that we need our own stand-alone server?

Huuuuuge mahalo for always taking care of us, Web Nerds! I REALLY like that the site responds noticeably faster. Threads open instantly, and new comments go up in seconds. Verrry nice. To tell you the truth, there have been days in the past when I've stopped by the site and, if the total number of visitors was greater than, say, 500, I didn't even bother to log in because I knew every command would take looooong minutes to execute. Now we can shoot around the site like we're driving a sleek new car.

Zippy load times = happy fans.

Only thing ... shucks, it was kind of a badge of honor that Dave's fans are so freakishly devoted that we could bring the entire Sony/BMG system to its knees. I'll kind of miss that. *chuckling*

Just in case it's helpful to let you know about glitches, this evening I am still getting "Safari Cannot Open Page" message when I post sometimes on the forums, but my forum comments have posted anyway. I noticed some duplicate postings from others. That usually happens when the forum comments do not appear to be posting.

Whoa, got online at 2:30 pm [west coast time] and there's a stated 715 ppl on the site. With lurkers, that could pop up to 1000 online. I got online! That hasn't been happening until the NEW server!!!!!!

I sure hope that this site will be faster then it is with this change , I don't know about the rest of you but every time i come here it is extremley SLOW and other weird things go on too. Well Good luck and i hope what ever you webnerds do makes this site easier to navigate. You have done a great job with the site and i love it , like i said a little faster would be Great
