even though CHR is where it is at for immediate sales and response, the song is going to have to cross over to Hot AC for increased exposure and longevity. Crush was able to be a legitimate Hot AC and AC hit. I know those formats are not as "sexy" but they have a lot of spins and ears listening, especially Hot AC. So the problem with going too dance pop and rhythmic is that it may turn off those formats.

Man, I read the smart comments and it's hard, isn't it? It does sound like Britney music, and her music is full of hits, and the charts have lots of dance right now, ergo, it should be a hit. Like Jai says, if it makes you move and the singer has a lot of people in his corner, why wouldn't it be big.
But yet, I'm not buying it, really, as far as something enormous. Maybe I am prejudice against it. My music brain also wants to be heard though, and it doesn't want this song. DNW!
We won't know the truth till more stuff happens, and even then.

You know I was hoping you would post, because you're a maven on the charts and also even handed and broad in your tastes.
You're more of a dance music consumer then I, it seems, so you may have a better feel for public taste if you rate this somewhat higher then I did.

For your thoughtful posts, which I really enjoyed reading.
As with jennyjenny, I was nothing but a casual watcher of the TV show before the David Cook thing, so was shocked to get so drawn into to what is in effect a whole miniature world. One started by trying to understand what would happen with his work and his story, and ended up delving into: why did this other singer or song succeed or fail? Why is what's on the radio *on the radio*?
