Ok, how did I end up in New York?

Well. I wasn't going to go to New York because I didn't want to waste my time if there was only a slim chance of getting into the concert. (little did I know I literally could've showed up and bought the CD at 5pm and still gotten a wrist band)

I wasn't going to go into the David Cook chat because I was uber stressed over work. But then I caved and submitted some questions and watched it a bit. (my fav submitted question that did not get answered: is corn on the cob a cook family tradition?)

After the chat there was this little message that said "TEXT DCOOK to numbernumbernumber to win passes to see David Cook tonight" so I was like WTF, why not? I texted a handful of times. And then I got a message back saying that I had won them and they would be calling me shortly.

Ok. Picture my head exploding.

They called me, took my name and confirmed everything and told me I had to go find the people with the guest list. OMG FANCY!

And then the panic set in: the realizing that I had no one to go with and no time to find anyone. (this was just a fantastic time for LJ to go down) Luckily, my dad is HOW YOU SAY for the win and wound up driving us. He did vote for David Cook like 10 times on finale night. So that a fan makes, I say.

I talked to Rickey from the DOT ORG and if I did wind up taking the train in by myself he was gonna meet me. YEY rickey! <3

As I drove home from work I CURSED myself for not putting laundry in yesterday. Cause I was LOW on clothes. Weird-sock!low. I still had my little neon Mustard Poster curled up in the corner of my room (dave rejected him so i couldn't just throw him away!) so I decided that because I was not going to have a hard copy of the CD to get signed, maybe I could get that signed. I had a feeling he was going to write something sassy on it. I just knew it.

FF: drove, finally listened to THE CD, drove more, got stuck in traffic, went through a tunnel, drove, parked, walked into the Hard Rock Cafe.

I had no clue where to go so I asked about 14 different people that looked like they should probably know and finally was pointed to a very large line. When I arrived at said line, I asked a 15th person where I might go considering I was supposed to be looking for an elusive guest list. He opened up door that had a sign that said "David Cook Entrance" (rofflechuckle) and I got in a MUCH shorter line (EFF YEA) and made some friends.

FF into the venue: said hi to renaberena, made some more friends (SOMETIMES IM CHATTY), said hi to Rickey, stood a lot, sang along to Magic Rainbows, stood some more.

In between one break I held up the mustard sign. I just wanted him to see it and chuckle. He saw it and chuckled. It was all I wanted, so I put the poster away.

CONCERT ENDS with a Light On finale and I sang the shi' out of that foo'.

Pictures did not for the most part turn out too well, sadly. I salvaged the best of the bunch. Neal was right in front of me, so you guys got a little bit of the hook up there. I offer you them as gifts. No perving. =D Sorry the only one I got of Kyle was a.ss-tastic. I figured certain people might be cross with me if I did not post ANY of him.

FF: standing around miming to my dad, fretting that I had no CD for him to sign and worrying they wouldn't let him sign my poster, made some friends, saw Mama Cook Beth.

David Cook time. I have come to the conclusion that he just does not make me nervous at all. And that helps when I have a speaking agenda. The security people were super nice and when I explained why I didn't have a CD to signed they said NO PROB when I asked if he would sign my poster.

He looked down at the poster and had a little knowing smile. I explained how I wanted to have him sign it at the Wilkes Barre show but he was not at the after party. I said: THE WORLD MUST HAVE A DEFINITIVE ANSWER. As I explained this, he wrote stuff but I was not paying attention to what he was writing. Because I had a speaking agenda, of course. I told him I noticed that he said in the chat earlier that day that one of his favorite movies was The Jerk and we discussed how the chat was censoring the word JERK so he had to write JURK. lolzzzzzz.

me: so if I said the phrase "he hates these cans" you would know exactly what i was referring to, right?
cooker: yes!
me: excellent

He handed me back the poster and I slipped in a little self-promo:

me: HEY, BTW, I entered the Light On Challenge. We did a techno-industrial cover, you should check it out.
cooker: yes! definitely!
me & cooker: *handshake*

And that was that. I went out into the lobby and looked down at my mustard poster. Look what he wrote:

VOM. LOLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. *frames*

I still maintain that I would NOT have camped out for that, but it was definitely fun and I'm glad I went. The end. Good night. Go to bed.

I like how you write. thanks. that was great. I am thinking about not liking mustard anymore just so I can agree with him. is that wrong? What a fun day. I love NYC. I live in Oregon. But lived in Queens in the 80s. Love the train. Love the people. Just love it there. Almost went to the HRC even from all the way over hear. Yes I do love Dave.

<3 the expression, priceless.
I heart David!

Vom indeed. And I like mustard!

Also, your challenge submission is off the charts. The AH logo in the middle cracked my ish right up.

You mean I DIDN'T have to go to the radio station? Why would they tell me that??? and act like they didn't know what I was talking about???

ya

I wish I had been IN there with ya lol. I hate when people screw things up for ya. THAT is a cool keepsake!

That's so great that you won those tickets! And that you got to talk to David! Glad we finally got a definitive answer on the mustard issue. Laughing out loud

THat is the coolest story ever! I tired winning tickets myself, but i ended up being the 99th peroson Sad I live in Mass and I wanted to go to New York so bad yesterday but my job as well was very stressfull. David seems like an awesome person to meet. I can't wait till he goes on tour. Have a great day!
