American Idol's seventh season winner, David Cook, lets audiences get the first taste of his 12-track debut self-titled album, which features his top twenty single, "Light On," and possible next single, "Declaration." His Sneak Peek is being offered on-demand on over 190 Clear Channel Radio web sites before its November 18th release date.

Not listening. Dont want no other voice but David's singing into my earbuds. Hell, I waited this long, what's another few days?
I won't mind the usual fan dissection of the songs. I appear to think VERY differently from the majority of other people in the world, so I don't think reading others opinions will damage my own enjoyment on hearing the CD for myself.

One side of me says LISTEN BEFORE THE 18TH and the other says WAIT, WAIT, WAIT.
I'm going insane here, I want to listen to THE album not a streaming version. argh! Yes, I listened to the 30-second snippets and they blew me away.
This will be a very tough test for me, succumb or not succumb to temptation. Anyways, the 18th is not so far away, I'll keep my head busy voting on Yes.com or VH1 top 20 and watching the video non-stop.

Good point Nono, (and others). It took quite a few listens of Light On before I stopped anticipating the On Demand voice in the middle of it.
I'm so torn! I know I have no will power, but I want everything to be perfect - no distractions.
I think I'm going to do my best to wait.
I'm leaving the door cracked open a little too far, aren't I?
i'm really happy for all the fans living in the US... unfortunately that site is off-limits to everyone else

I have to say this is the first time I have been conflicted about sampling any tidbit of, or relating to, one David Cook. I don't think I want to hear his music for the first time with the anti-piracy code in the middle of each song. I totally understand why they are doing that, and completely approve, I'm just not sure that's the way I want to hear it for the first time. I've waited this long, whats a few more days? Ha. I'll probably be weak though and cave after reading everyone else squeeing about it all over DCO. So I'll just have to wait and see!

I don't think it'll hurt anything... who wouldn't rather have the actual CD either way? I bought a pirated CD once at a flea market, the sound was totally below par & just a total waste of money. May as well spend a little more, get what you pay for and support the artist as well. Hoping he releases Analog Heart again sometime for those of us who didn't get to purchase it before they pulled it.... Thanks for the heads-up FoolsApril! IMO, people who will pirate a copy of the music on demand stream will not have payed for the album anyways. Also, the live stream has an audio that chimes in mid-song for all the tracks so you can't get a "perfect copy"
Keep this in mind when choosing wether to listen to it cuz you may end up with a "music on demand" jingle stuck in your head (it happens to me with TOML).
