We are canceling Monday and Tuesday's shows to allow David time to deal with personal family matters. Please respect his privacy at this time. David would like everyone to rest assured that we are working with the Universities to reschedule the shows that are missed.

He didn't deserve to pass on at such young age, and you and the rest of your family did NOT deserve to loose a loved one. I don't understand...I prayed EVERY SINGLE NIGHT for him; and this happens. I also would like to say that now EVERYONE knows that you truly are an inspiration to ALL!!! After this terrible, sad day, you still ran the race of hope! And now thanks to you, David Cook, and everyone else who ran with you...you are helping to prevent this heart-breaking cancer to MANY, MANY people in the future. Just remember, One person can make all the difference in the world. I send my love, and feel better. Don't stop being inspriational...because it helps others follow through!

David Cook at Sunfest was one of the most amazing shows Ive ever seen last night. I was so excited that
the wait was over, but now so sad that its over and done cause I want more, much, much more.
I was going online to see how he did in the race in DC. that he spoke about last night and was saddened
by the headlines about the passing of his brother sometime after the show and before the race. My heart
goes out to you and your family and I will pray for you for peace and comfort. I dont know you of course, but I
have to say I feel touched by you and I am truely hurting for you. You are an amazing person and Im sure
your brother was so proud of you and happy to see what you have accomplished as I am sure you are just
as proud of him for many reaons.

Dude you really need to get over it. It's DC. If he canceled a show there's obviously a pretty good reason for it. You are sitting here complaining to a man that is going through hell with family matters and all that matters to you is getting your $2 back. WTF!!!! David can't please everybody and if you don't like the fact that his brother's sick or whatever the reason he canceled is, then don't buy the next CD. I'll remember to buy an extra one to make up for your pitiful loss. Sorry about you're bad luck buddy. GET OVER IT! If it was your family you would have done the same thing and I'm sure that David will at least do his best to make sure that previously purchased tickets will be honored at the rescheduled concert. Let the poor guy deal with the priorities in his life before he worries about your $2. I'm sure that Dave would have much rather been at the concert than to have this mysterious misfortune happen. Again, get over it. Take your problems up with the person that overcharged you, not the one who's trying to accommodate every individual person. My husband and I make less than 30 grand a year and I would much rather be out the money and have Dave take care of his personal problems so that he can continue to perform at his best than to have him so up and play the worst concert he's ever done because his thought are with his ill family members. Let him deal with this. He's DC he'll come through but really he can't worry about every soul in the world that has a problem. He's only human. He can't please every one!!

mominbo: It's been what, 2 weeks since they cancelled the show? And you're seeing DC in a different light because the powers that be haven't announced rescheduled show dates for something cancelled due to family concerns? Since he's on tour, it's likely there isn't a close up date that meets both his schedule and the campus's prior obligations yet, but of all the acts on tour out there DC is certainly one who cares deeply for his fan base and certainly isn't forgetting the people in New London and New Haven. A little patience will surely be rewarded. As for the $2 ticket costing you a pretty penny, perhaps you forget DC's tour still sees just the $2 from these performances, minus all the cuts. The ticket prices were set so low so even students on ramen noodles could afford to enjoy the performance. Someone else cashed in on their own greed and sold you tickets over the face value, perhaps you should seek them out for a refund. That seems to be the root of your angst. Beating on a guy when he (or his family) is down over things not in his control is just not cool

You give so much joy to us all; we dont want you to hurt or be in pain. I lost my dad when I was just 12 years old. I loved him with all my heart. He was only 39 and died of a heart condition. Praying for your family
I hope that Adam is doing well. Speaking as someone who has lost a family member to cancer, you do need to spend as much time with your family as you can. I know things are crazy busy for you, but what you have going on right now can wait. It may not seem that way now but believe me it can. He may only get so many good days and you want to be there for those. Because those may mean the world to you someday.
Just throwing this out there not knowing where it might land. You have an amazing fan base that will understand the need to reschedule a few shows here and there. I am looking forward to seeing you in Memphis this weekend if that show works out.

This difficult time
Take all the time you need. Be with your brother and family as time is precious and these are the moments you can never get back. We will pray for you, Adam and your entire family. I lost my mother in a tragic way and I would give anything to have been able to spend more time with her before she died. What ever happens just know you made your brother the happiest and proudest he could have ever been by becoming the person he always knew you were meant to be. That is something you both will carry for the rest of your lives. We will be here when ever you decide to come back.

I've been wanting to write to you for a while...I have been praying for you and your family...most especially your brother Adam for quite some time. It is truly inspirational to see brothers who love each other so very much. Where love so pure exists...there is a very special and Divine power surrounding it. Hold onto that...take your time...spend time with your family and your brother...you can never take this time back and it is precious...so savor it together with those who hold the strings to your heart.
I want you to know...I was on a religious retreat this weekend in Miami where I live, and used your song..."Time of My Life". It was incredibly inspirational for all of us sharing the Lord together this weekend. Thank you so much for your powerful delivery of this extraordinary message. "You search high and low for that rainbow...but it was never farther away than your very own heart. It isn't until we surrender to love that we can truly see clearly what is right in front of us." There were many women's hearts transformed by your message...you should know that. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
So let me tell you now...continue to follow your heart as you have...stay true to yourself...keep close to your loved ones...and the rest...well...its just icing! I hope to see you one day in concert...and hopefully on that day be able to thank you in person myself.

to a rare brain cancer.She had battled it for a little over two years when they had only given her
18 months.She was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme at stage 4.Having lost both my parent's in the last 4 years i can say i feel ur pain and i know there is not alot that can be said,so with that

I just wanted to let you know that i'm praying for you and your family right now. Whatever you are going through, i know you will get through it b/c you are a strong person that can handle anything! I know how hard it is to watch someone you love so much suffer from a potentially life-threatning disease. My grandpa died from ALS (better known as Lou Gehrig's disease) in 2004. I loved him so much and losing him was one of the hardest things i've ever had to go through. I miss him a lot! Your song Permanent makes me think about him all the time. I love that song b/c the lyrics are so deep and it has so much emotion in it, it makes me want to cry everytime i hear it. your music is amazing!! your truly one of my favorite artists b/c all of your songs mean something and everyone can relate to them in one way or another, which is what makes a great artist, in my opinion. I love you so much and i hope that i get to meet you one day! My thoughts and prayers are always with you and your family! and im hopefully coming to your show in little rock, arkansas on the 29th! oh, and congratulations on your record going platinum!! you totally deserve it!

David, God is with you and your family...everything is his hands. Thank you for the comfort you give everyone who listens to your music, including "Permanent." All of us have had events in our lives and can relate to you through these difficult times. No matter what it is, just know that you are a blessing to all of us who enjoy and taste of your talents. I watched your last performance of Permanent, and have to say it is now my favorite song (I'm fickle because I love all of your songs and have trouble settling on just one very favorite song). You allow us to share every emotion you have while singing, and that is the reason you are my favorite artist of all time. As young as you are, you have the ability, talent, and depth to be able to express yourself in a way I haven't seen elsewhere. Rarely can an artist make you cry...feel... I still say you will be bigger than the Beatles, and you already are to me! Shirley (I mean, Squirrellygirl) loves you to pieces, David. And that kiss was way too hot...LOVED IT. WISH I WAS HER. Gosh, David, you know you really need to take a dip in acting. You can definitely pull off the love scenes.
