For far too long I put music by the wayside; RL concerns pushed it out of the way, and then necessity turned into habit.

And then I heard Hello. And Billie Jean. And Eleanor Ribgy.... and Analog Heart.... and DCTR.... and on, and on, and on.

David's music has everything I look for when I consider why I like the songs I do. It's so heavily melodic and rhythmic, all at the same time. His lyrics are pure poetry and hit you in the gut -- you can't but respond emotionally to them. And his singing voice just tickles something in my brain and makes me happy when I hear it.

And on top of that, he made me think. His cover arrangements took songs that I had never considered, in a million years, could be played any differently than I had heard them, and made me reassess them on their musical and lyrical merits for the first time. And music nerd that I am, I've had so much fun doing it.

Add to that the fact that he has demonstrated, time and again, his intelligence, grace, class, integrity, generosity, and humor -- how could I not be a fan?
