As reported in Billboard.com, David Cook just completed a feat previously achieved by only two other male solo artists at the Adult Top 40 format: collecting his third top 10, as "Come Back to Me" moves from #11 to #10 this week.

David's introductory single, "Time of My Life," last year's "American Idol" victory song, reached No. 7, and its follow-up, "Light On," peaked at No. 4. All three songs appear on David's self-titled debut album, which bowed at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 in December and has sold 1,174,000 copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Word is CNN has canceled this encore presentation of David's interview. We will alert you if it is rescheduled for a later date.

In the wake of this season's "American Idol" finale, David opened up for MTV and spoke from the heart about his experience on the show last season and the truly deep connection he feels with this year's finalists:

"Lambert and I both have that side-swoop-bang thing going on, so there's that. I guess Kris and Archie have similar haircuts too. It's all about the hair, guys."

All jokes aside, though, you'll definitely want to check out this entire interview! Watch David speak about the story of his music career below!

David Cook recently visited the Philippines with his fellow American Idol, David Archuleta, and both performed for over 50,000 fans who turned up at Manila's SM Mall of Asia Open Grounds. Archuleta took the stage first and sent girls into a screaming frenzy with his wholesome smile and crystal clear vocals, delivering an energetic set. Then David Cook and his band stormed on stage with their undeniable rock show, and David brought fans to delirium when he climbed down from the stage to sing amongst his fans - his smiling face surrounded by a gaggle of digicam-wielding hands. The show ended with Cook calling his pal Archie back on stage for a final song, the pair leaving indelible memories that Manila's music fans won't soon forget.

Exactly one year after winning the seventh season of “American Idol,” David Cook returned to the most popular television series in America to perform “Permanent,” - a song he wrote with Chantal Kreviazuk and Raine Maida. The studio version of “Permanent” appears on his platinum-selling debut album for 19 Recordings/RCA Records, “David Cook.” The live recording is now available for purchase on iTunes and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure (ABC2), a Washington, D.C.-based organization dedicated to finding a cure for brain cancer.

Earlier this month, Cook raised money and awareness for ABC2 by running in the organization’s 5K “Race for Hope” in the District of Columbia. ABC2 uses an entrepreneurial venture philanthropy approach to bring more treatments to patients sooner by stimulating new research and accelerating the development of new therapies for brain cancer. ABC2 looks forward to the day when all patients who are diagnosed with brain cancer can be told they have a manageable disease.

ABC2 provides researchers with the pivotal support they need to make critical breakthroughs. The organization funds novel translational research aimed at finding the fastest possible route to a cure. ABC2's partners range from medical research centers to early-stage biotechnology companies to large multi-national pharmaceutical companies. Since brain cancer affects a relatively small portion of the population, ABC2 recognizes the importance of investing in the early stages of the most novel sectors of the discovery and development pipeline, in order to "buy down the risk" for its partners and speed progress of innovative new treatments to the clinic.

More information about the annual 5K Race for Hope is available on the websites of Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure (www.abc2.org) and the National Brain Tumor Society (www.tbts.org).

A big thanks to user coolshades for starting a thread in the new Tell David! section of the forum soliciting ideas for upcoming episodes of Pork Beans!

Says coolshades:

I know we all love Pork Beans. So here's a place to give David suggestions for what we'd like to see in future installments...just in case he and the guys run out of ideas (which probably won't happen. lol)

I'll start:
(1) I'd like to see a tour of the buses. And yes, it's OK if y'all clean them up a bit first before you do the tour. LOL
(2) Several folks have mentioned that they'd like to see a "Dublin cam": a video of Dublin running around with a camera attached to him. That would be cute Smiling
(3) Someone please convince Andy to get out from behind the camera just once so we can actually see more than just his sneakers. Please and thank you.

Got any other other ideas you'd like heard? A tour of the group's tattoos? A "Jazzercise with Joey" video? Maybe even a Dublin-cam? Let us know what you think about these ideas and any others you have in the new Tell David! section of the forum.

I wanted to write everyone and say a few things, in light of recent events, to dispel any misinformation that may be circulating and to say thank you on behalf of my family and myself to everyone who has shown even the slightest bit of support to us and our efforts as a family to help eradicate this terrible affliction.

My brother, Adam, passed away at 11:52pm Eastern, May 2nd. He was 37 years old and leaves behind his wife and two children. We had played Sunfest in West Palm Beach that night, walking off stage at approximately 11:00pm Eastern, and I rushed to get on a plane to fly to Washington D.C., to be a part of the Race For Hope-D.C., a fundraiser for research and development of a cure for brain cancer. I learned of Adam’s passing upon getting to my hotel around 3:00am Eastern. I decided to run in the race, despite all of this, for two reasons. First, my brother never wanted his illness to affect others. That was evident in the fact that he wanted his illness to have no part in my experience on Idol, a point he was quite adamant about. So, with that wish in mind, I ran and was involved with the event as an homage to him. Secondly, there are many people who are still battling, and by running and sharing my brother’s story, I hope that it offers those still fighting that much more resolve to not succumb to this wretched disease.

I want to again thank everyone who donated to the race and continues to donate, sent a kind email, posted thoughts and prayers, called, etc. I take it as affirmation that my brother was the great man that I knew, and whose ideals I constantly try to uphold in myself. It is with those ideals in tow that I vow to continue to speak out in hopes of raising whatever necessary to help eliminate cancer entirely.

Also, I mentioned earlier that Adam never wanted his illness to affect anyone. So, with the exception of our Toledo, OH, show on May 6th, which we will do everything possible to reschedule, all other shows will go on as scheduled.

Lastly, thank you to everyone for allowing us, as a family, to grieve and come to terms privately. This event has shown me, beyond doubt, that I have the greatest people in my life, family, friends, and fans alike, and for that, I can never offer enough thanks.

~D
