David should start up a Fan Club with some perks!
Such as M&G's and pre-sake tickets w/ the best seats in the house (like first ten rows) or such.
And a better organized message board that I could actually keep track of and not get lost, like this one, heh.
Any other ideas?

ok i have pposted about this over and over but bare with me please-- i would live a fan club!!
i am in the dave matthews band fan club for almost ten years now (member since 99) anyway it is 35 a year this includes a little gift bundle. we get our own website. a presale system is implamented we get dates in an ORGANIZED fasion and it goes by seniority so i being a member since 99 ALWAYS get first ten rows!! someone who joined last year may get back seats. we trade and sell tickets at face on the boards and even travel to shows together. scalpers do still exsist but if they have a special fan club ticket and it is sold over face they get reported and their membership is yanked .
i hope cook does this!!! it also weeds out the people who arent that serious about seeing the band then when it is on public sales these people just grab back seats.
I thought we WERE a fanclub.
In any case, I'm having fun on these forums.
I remember a www.rickey.org broadcast where he had paid something to join a Jason Castro fan club. He opened his packet "on-air" to show us the loot. It was fun!
It would be nice to have some official loot.
Hey yeah krittr, I do seem to recall something about "points". Whatever the heck that means, I guess we have no idea. Maybe we just dreamed it all up? I thought too that it might have something to do with getting special fan stuff.
I thought they were going to try something like that with this site, giving "points" and things....? Not sure how they'd handle the pre-sale part of it, though. Anyone know what's going on with that? Webnerds? Anyone? Beuhler?

Well here's an idea that could HELP stop the scalpers...of course, it wouldn't be exactly fool proof. They could always use the date we joined this group to add us to the pre-sales list lol. That way they would know that we aren't just joining to get in on the tickets sales. OR you'd have to be an "active" member for so long before you are entitled to the pre-sales...something like that.

I would have never ever paid to be in a fan club before David. I would give my right leg now if I had to!!!!!
Hey, talk about perks....Im still looking for the online t-shirts and such that we were told of!! Would love to have access to lots of cool stuff that he actually approves or helps design!

Pre-Sales ticket for fan club members is an excellent idea..i would pay a membership fee to have
special benifits...I hope his management takes this idea and apply it.

Hopefully in time his Management will think about setting up an official Fan Club. After all these years I finally joined the Jon BonJovi Fan Club - there is a yearly membership charge and there are perks (i.e. pre-sales of tickets, M&Gs, ect.)
I think that could be a good idea : )

That won't change people from scalping tickets. That is just a fact of concert life.

With the fan club they can do pre-sales on concert tkts for club members only. Then the rest of the tkts will go on sale to the public. I think this is the only way the real fans can get tkts without the scalpers buying them all up for a huge profit. Did anyone notice how much tkt prices are . On STUBHUB at the Borgata in NJ the highest price tkt is going for $883 & at the Niagara Falls show the highest price tkts is selling for $1000. You believe that. That is why David should do pre-sales for his fans on his website. People want to go to the shows but at this point nobody can afford it.
I hope they do set something up for the next leg of the tour.
