** NOTE ** SPECIAL NOTICES (e.g., CELLCAST/WEBCAST INFO, etc.), UPDATES, etc.
WILL BE POSTED IN THE FIRST PINNED REPLY TO THIS THREAD

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey everyone! I thought I'd create a discussion thread for each stop of the Declaration Tour in an effort to keep the boards organized and help everyone more easily find info related to each event (and have a record of everything in one place for anyone wanting to look back on these events sometime in future). The following is how these threads will work (subject to change):
>> Thread pinned to the top of or on the main David Cook Discussion forum for 24-48 hrs
>> Thread moved and pinned to the top of or on the main Tour Talk forum for 24-48 hrs
>> Thread moved to its respective regional Tour Talk forum
If, for some reason, a thread isn't moved right away, it will be eventually.
What should be posted here? Related local radio/tv/press, on-site reports/photos, live blogging, recaps, media and fan reviews, links to related blogs, event photos/videos, etc., etc.
Please post links to photos instead of embedding them and please disable graphic footers as this will make the thread easier to read (especially when live blogging). Regarding PRE-SHOW sound check and set list spoilers, please either PM me the info so that I may post it as hidden text in the first pinned reply or, alternatively, if I am not hosting or not here for whatever reason, then please post the spoilers to a blog and link that blog back to this thread in your reply.
As always, I welcome comments/questions, as well as info, via PM. Thank you. ~Lisa
It was actually my point and shoot. I just do this for a living so I know how to use it on manual. I'm kicking myself for not taking my SLR in there though since they didnt check bags and I could have gotten away with using it after we rushed the stage.
Crush, great pics. You must have been standing right behind me with a much better camera Smiling
I've only got a couple more for now. I haven't really had the chance to dig in and edit alot of them yet. I had quite a few shoots over the 4th of July weekend. When I do get more edited I will most definitely post them.
wow Crush, those are great pics! Is there a way we can see more of them?
Hey, guys. I finally got all of my pictures uploaded from the Thackerville show. I somehow took almost 900 of them?? But I narrowed it down to a "best of".
Laverne,
A belated "thanks" for the cellcast and the immediate gratification from your iPhone uploads! Sounds like it was quite a unique show. And how surreal to play blackjack with David.
Totally Irrational Fan #: 2πr Walking all these circles to Anodyne.
Hi Everyone,
I did the cellcast last night and uploaded the TOML from my cellphone last night during the intermission. My three handles are LMP on Mandy's blog, Laverne here, and MP97333 on YouTube....
I had the MOST amazing concert experience of my life yesterday! I saw David playing Blackjack in the casino with Kyle and security standing behind him on my way to pick up my ticket for the show. I had brought a Midnight Rodeo t-shirt with me for David, since we have a Midnight Rodeo in San Antonio. The manager actually gave me a staff shirt for him. Since David was busy playing cards, I gave it to Kyle and explained who and where it was from.
After picking up my ticket, I parked myself at a slot machine near David and actually won $450 off of the $20 I put in. At that point, I figured my luck was great, and I saw an empty seat next to David at the blackjack table - so, I went and sat down right next to him (on his left). We chatted and played cards for about 2 hours - probably the worst I've done at blackjack (lost $80), but then, I was DISTRACTED!!!
He is by FAR the coolest guy ever. I played it cool, no giggly fan stuff, but I did have to have a rum and diet coke at the start to calm the nerves. He was mostly just drinking water. I made him laugh a couple of times, which I think made my year, if not my decade. When he left, he signed my t-shirt for me.
Every concert I attend (this was my 6th), I seem to have the most amazing time. Different every time, but absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, my next show isn't until July 19th....pout....
I can`t remember ever falling this hard
hey guys my pictures are uploading to photobucket, username katiee202
here''s a preview Smiling
I was there. What a fantastic night! I've been to 3 shows, and this was my favorite!
The show was so close to Texas. The drive wasn't bad at all! It was worth every penny I spent on the ticket.
My seat was on the second row. The fan sitting next to me was awesome! Her & I both did not know anyone sitting around us. There was quite a bit of space between the seats and the stage. Security let us leave our seats and walk up to the area in front of the stage. I was so glad that she got to see the show up close for her first David Cook concert! We all had an amazing time.
We were at the edge of the stage in front of Neal. His dad was standing closeby. Neal's dad is very young looking! I noticed right away that Neal looks like him. It was so cool that he got to come and enjoy the show.
My voice is gone today because I cheered so loud during the show last night! It was so much fun!
Thank you, David and the band for such an amazing night! I'll never forget it! <3
I found this video for HFT. Don't think it's posted here
I had so much fun! I'm so glad I went to this show. It was my favorite of all the ones I've seen.
And I got one of Joey's picks.
Thackerville was my first official DC concert and it did not disappoint! so great! Except I got busted for having a camera, so I only got about ten pictures...oh well, still amazing!!!! I love david!
TWIK: Oh, the big pause before what ought to be the last "know" is evil! For working the audience to a frenzy, that does make a great segue to "Heroes." I am totally cracking up at how that one worked, even though I must have seen that sequence before.
IJDIYAT: I'm never sure how much of the apparent difference on the "harder" rock songs is venue acoustics and video quality, but what I heard had an interesting tension to it.
H4T: Half-naked men in duct tape...? When Ryan's band starts doing that routine as a group, it may be time to worry about something, though opinions may differ on what.
ADAM: Contrast between the understated bits and the rocking bits is particularly stunning this time.
Notable performances of the available video: Declaration, ADAM
