From having the best debut album of any idol before him (debuting at #3 on the charts), having 3 singles and headlining his own tour, it's been a great year for David Cook. In St. Louis the other night, David busted out a new song he’s been working on. This was the absolute FIRST time he had ever played it live. He’s been writing new songs, and if “Make Believe” is any indication of what’s to come, then you all have a lot to be excited for. Check out a fan video of the song below!

Yes, the rumors you have been hearing are true. David was recently in Indiana to film ABC’s Extreme Makeover home edition. The episode is tentatively scheduled for January of 2010. David thoroughly enjoyed the experience - More details to come!

Pretty awesome, if only for the classic video they posted along with it. David Cook's "The Time of My Life" single won 'Song of the Year' at the 2009 Nashville Music Awards held October 7th, 2009. The song won the American Idol Songwriter Contest held online on Americanidol.com from thousands of entrants. Billboard has declared it "...one of the longest-running chart-toppers by a solo male artist in AC history." The hit single written by Regie Hamm has joined the ranks of select Nashville-penned songs that have achieved remarkable success at the #1 spot, including Elvis' "Heartbreak Hotel" in 1956.

We all know there's nobody who can carry a tune quite like David can, but why not help to make it official? The final nominees for the 2009 Nashville Music Awards have just been released, and it looks like David's "The Time of My Life" was nominated for "Song of the Year"! Let's see if we all can't do our part to help David win! Head over to The Nashville Music Awards Website and cast your vote!
Voting closes at midnight, CST, on September 30th, 2009, so you'll want to be sure to get your vote in pronto! In order for the ballot to be valid, you'll need to also vote for all the other categories. Be sure your vote for David counts!
