US Fans: would you be interested in gifting international fans with LO via iTunes?

If you're interested in signing up either as a Donor or a Recipient, please post below, BUT NOT BEFORE YOU'VE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. TIP FOR LOOKING UP YOUR NAME IN THE DONOR & RECIPIENT LIST: In Firefox or Internet Explorer, hit CTRL + F, then type in your name in the textfield at the bottom of your browser. Firefox or IE will highlight your name on the page. (There's an equivalent command for the other browsers but I'm not familiar with them, will someone please PM me so I can post them.)

Pardon me for being forward, but for those in the United States, would you be willing to send Light On as an iTunes gift to international fans? You see, we can't buy songs from iTunes. But we CAN accept iTunes gifts (international fans: there's a process to be followed, but it's a simple one). I've been lucky enough in the past to receive DC's songs from generous friends at another forum. A lot of people who live outside the US have been asking about this so I thought I'd see first if there were any of you out there who would be willing to send the song for free. If there are enough people interested, I'll set up a thread so we can match gifter with giftee.

Yeah. NY_CookFan is a total lifesaver. I hadn't even listened to the song in full before she gifted me with an Amazon MP3, so I was only able to appreciate Light On in full when she did.
While we're on the subject of gifting, would anyone care to gift me and the other international fans with a copy of the album? I started an album gifting thread but it quickly got buried.

albacookie, the thing is, I believe both sender and recipient need to have addresses in the same country for gifting to work. Thus, US Donors have been able to successfully gift international fans who have iTunes accounts with US addresses.

Light On is now on iTunes UK as well so we can gift it from there.

If there are willing donors for the LO video, we are willing to create a new chart for matching donors and recipients. Those who have pledged several LO songs might want to consider sending out LO videos instead. Also, those who have already sent LO songs might like to gift their recipient-partners with the video. This will make gifting more efficient since you already have each other's email address. Anyone who agrees with this method, please sign up and state that this is your intention.

If anyone wants LO and can't be gifted through iTunes, just letting you know that you CAN gift it through Amazon. I actually prefer that method, because you get an mp3 file which can be played on any player, not just an iPod.
About the full album - maybe we could think of some way to transfer money online to willing fans in the US, who will then purchase the album for us? I already ordered the CD through Amazon, but I'd like to get the downloads too (plus the actual CD won't arrive for weeks after the release, in my case).

To anyone experiencing the iTunes glitch - - we cannot gift the single Light On until November 18.
Here is the explanation I just received from their customer service.
"The song "Light On" has been moved to the preorder instant gratification status since the album it came from is up for preorder. This means that on November 18th, once the album has been released, you will then be able to gift the track."
In other words, since Light On is an instant download bonus for pre-ordering the album, we can't gift the single until the album in released.
The other option we have is Amazon. That is what I used for my recipient.
