I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...
Oh, it's so simple. Anyone who watches American Idol becomes easily obsessed. Probably because these are people just like you and me. They didn't grow up with famous parents or have easy access to fame. They've struggled to be heard, and AI gives them the opportunity they so deserve. I'm a singer myself and I can't help but be a huge fan of the show. Although I always had my favorite in every season, DC took my breathe away or brought tears to my eyes nearly every episode. I remember I missed the night David sang Billie Jean. My mom called my and told me I absolutely had to youtube his performance. So I did. My roommate Kaitlin and I watched it together and sat there with our jaws dropped for a few seconds after the performance was over haha...I remember looking at her and being like "Holy s***," and then we both decided he was definitely it for AI season 7. From then on the show allows you to get to know them a little bit, and anyone who, like me, rarely misses an episode, get to know their favorite contestants. For me it was David, and I couldn't help but to get to know him and fall in love with him, in a sense. I don't think people realize what kind of talent this guy has got. It's remarkable. You can't help but love David as a person, anyway. By watching his journey into star status and sex symbol, you realize he is so down to earth and grounded and humble. His priorities are straight. He loves music and is so passionate about what he's doing. And hell, just to add to it, he's damn sexy, smart, and has a voice that will send chills up your spine (or at least should). You don't have to be and avid fan of David, but you can't help but to recognize his talent and his passion. I can't wait to follow his career!
