2008-A Year in Review

Wow. It seems like just yesterday I welcomed in 2008 and now it's already 2009. What a year! In this year we have seen political changes, economic changes. We have also had some phenomenal changes in music. Namely one David Roland Cook. The bartender/musician from Tulsa OK. I could never have imagined then how someone I don't know, would impact my life to such a great degree. This time last year I was doing what I always do on New Years day. Reflecting on the past year and wondering what would occur in the coming year. I had thoughts of maybe getting a new job or finding a significant other or trying to keep some random New Year's resolution.

I didn't know at the time that by the end of the year I would have made all the wonderful friends I have made or learned how to do all this tech(y) stuff. I would have never pictured myself on a fan forum or facebook or myspace or blogging. But some how I have been coaxed out of my little "shell" . I have met some really nice people in these places from near to far. I Have met people who live in other states and even other countries. All in connection to the love that each one of us has for David Cook. I have learned about different genres of music(indie) that I wouldn't have listened to otherwise and totally love it. To be 44 years old and be in to grunge and all that is something else! I have traveled across state lines and hundreds of miles away to see a concert. The last concert I went to was 18 years ago! David has even inspired me to want to learn to play a guitar (acoustic). I plan to purchase one in the very near future and take lessons. It's really cool that one individual can bring out so many hidden qualities and talents in people. I would have never dreamed this time last year that I would be able to communicate on such a personal level with a ROCKSTAR! What an awesome year 2008 has been for me and I have hope that 2009 will be even better! Smiling

I know what you mean. It's amazing how one person can bring so many of us together. I've met a *lot* of great people here at DCO, and obviously, I wouldn't have met them had it not been for David.

That's great that you're going to learn to play guitar! Good luck! Laughing out loud
