All Fall Down-Poem

Recently, I've come to know my life as not my own. I thought I was in control of it, and as fate would hate it...I am not! That misconception is simply a misty haze that looks great in the light of day, but blinding when you least expect it.

Karma is a b**** too. I've met her. She's not always nice. I wrote this poem knowing full well, I am all of it. Unwise to the thought that I could control anything, and dizzy sick that life has set me spinning out of control.

Please...don't get me wrong. It's not in my control...but that is not necessarily a bad thing. It's just.....different that I expected.

All Fall Down
(Serenity – Lisa H)

How often do we walk through life
Pretending we’re the boss
Asserting our authority
Never slowing to gather moss

Feigning hurt when things go wrong
Thinking it’s not our fault
When people stop to point our way
We take it with a pinch of salt

We grind our heels into the dirt
Steady our hearts so we don't hurt
Grab each other by the shirt
But we all fall down.

Cover our faces when storms roll in
Pretend the monster isn’t there
That rubs our insides raw with fear
And threatens to suck out all our air

We cry to wash away the hurt
But it burns our skin like acid rain
Bury our face into our hands
And scream so we can hear the pain

When we close our eyes so we can’t see
The universe spins randomly
Loosen our grip to set us free
But we all fall down.

I feel I’m on a merry go round
Spinning till I hit the ground
Turned myself in to lost and found
And we all fall down.
We all fall down.
