I've decided that John_socal's videos are the best recap for this show. Everything you need to know is there. Start with Mr. Sensitive and watch all of them, in order if you want.
But here are a few personal points:
I took 3 RL friends with me - F1 is cookified. F2 is semi cookified, would have liked to hear Dave's voice more. F3 is hopeless! It was too loud for her (hello? Rock concert?) - She got a headache but enjoyed people watching, got upset at camera nazis giving folks a hard time, expressed extreme bewilderment about the few people standing on stage right during the entire set. They were not hidden behind a curtain or anything. In plain view of F3 and others in her area, just standing there chatting while Dave and the Anthemic played. It kind of bewilders me too. Distracting.
I heard several random audience members complain about the sound just like F2. The instruments were too loud for them to hear Dave's sweet voice.
Allegan crowd loved David and was very loud for him
The band is even tighter than they were at Owens. They have worked on synchronized movements. They line up at Kyle's station or the urinals ™gueseppe more frequently. They started a song and ended another one standing there. They came up front together too.
Monty is a happy man up there, all smiles, spins, having a good time.
Andy is more involved, less shy, moves around more too.
Neal is quite animated, coming to front of stage and doing the hand wiggle sign like Dave , but with the entire hand not fingers, guitar over the back, jumping around. Lots of Dutch courage I think.
Kyle is a superstar! Unbelievable drumming, he takes my breath away. Just adorable too.
I like hearing the back up vocals
Dave. Smartass rock star! It's easy for him to please the crowd and control them, yet he remains so modest in expressing his gratitude. The combination of hot rock star with The Voice, funny smartass, and humble, sweet guy bantering and making faces is just irresistible.
I might have driven my friends over the edge with nonstop David talk and relating everything back to David.
I might have gotten into a tiny, little altercation with owner of small boutique in Saugatuck the next day, when said owner made inappropriate comments about why women love David Cook and why he didn't care for him because his music was all about shouting. At the least, I did not give him my money. The wine testing escapade earlier might have given me some Dutch courage. LOL.
That was concert number 5 which is hard to explain to the people in my life.

Now trying to explain Concert 6 & 7 !
Great recap Swanny... might have enjoyed seeing you defend Women's Rights to Love David Cook to the shop owner!
With just a kiss on the neck
World Cookification - Marginally Successful - Yeah
Hey, Swanny, love your thoughts and impressions. Sounds to me like the boutique owner was jus jelus. I guess alll we can do is mourn for your poor F3’s loss. She’ll never have the fun, pleasure or excitement of being a DC fan. And for cripes sake you gave her something better than an aspirin to get over her headache. You couldn’t be a better friend. Glad you had a fantastic show. But, you neglected to tell us – did you go with the khakis or the jeans?

The now defunked StockTV. Oh, where I've been sold and spun again.
Great Re-Cap!
It was great to have met you ! And you are right! Too bad I did not realize that was You right in front of me during the concert! I might not have Screamed So LOUD right into your left ear! LOL! Hope to see you again at another concert! ~ Luvs ~ Patti =)

the uncookifiable
As David himself has reminded us, there are some people who are just never going to be fans. As far as not being able to hear his voice. That's a tragedy and the biggest stumbling block I've run into trying to convert the novice. It bugs me too. By this time, however, it doesn't bother me as much. I hear him perfectly well, whether or not the band or the sound mix or the crowd are drowning him out. Actually, to be perfectly honest, I hear him even when he's not singing and there's no music playing. Anyone here find anything strange about that? I kinda doubt it. But if ya do, please don't tell me. I'm just not ready to "certify" myself quite yet. Still have 2 more concerts to go to. No, that won't even make it to "ten".
Thank you for the great recap
Thanks so much for filling in the details about the Alleghan concert. In regards to friend #3 and the boutique owner, I guess it takes all kinds, or well, it may not take them but I guess we are stuck with them.
Anyway, I very much enjoyed your recap. You have provided a lovely ending for the day.
YOU NEVER HAVE TO EXPLAIN IT TO ME
And leave the real life friends home. It's more fun with me.

"That is such a fantastically stupid show, and, here I am, forever in its debt for bringing David Cook into my life." (normanthecat)
