Aug 11, 2009 CD signing at the Hard Rock café, Hollywood
I just got back from a long trip to the states and during that trip I had the amazing opportunity to meet David at the Hard rock café in Hollywood. To be honest I didn't think I have much of a chance to meet him while I'm there but then the announcement about the cd signing in Hollywood come... omg, talking about being at the right time in the right place... I was so excited about this. Anyway, I would summarize the day into two parts, the first one was very irritating and the second part - AMAZING.
We arrived at the Hard rock around 12 noon and surprisingly found only about 20 people in line. We started organizing ourselves by order of arrival. By 3:00 pm there were around 80-100 people, Than the Hard Rock staff came out and moved us to a new place and the whole line become a mess, all the people who where there first suddenly found themselves at the end of the line. We went, the group of 20 that got there early, to complain about that and the Hard Rock idiots told us it's our problem and that they didn't give out any numbers, in short it was very messy… Boo to the Hard rock staff!!! Eventually, there were not many people and everyone got to meet David but still they were very annoying. Later they informed us we couldn't take pictures with David because there are a lot of people and not enough time????? Seriously???? But that we could take pictures of him. Very odd, I thought they were expecting 300 people and there were a lot less than that there so why is there not enough time??? And on top of that the ceremony of the donation that was supposed to be open for all they turned into a privet event on the second floor of the Hard Rock and non of the fans got to see that. Boo to the Hard rock staff!!! Again!!!
At around 6:00 pm they started letting us in, in groups. David of course looked incredible as always. When it was our turn, we went to him and told him we are from Israel and that he has many fans here. He remembered us from last summer. We gave him the book with the fan letters from around the world, and showed him there was also a video with a message from all of us. Than we gave him a book with pictures from Israel and he was very excited about that, and said a few times, "wow it's so cool". He read the dedication we wrote to him on the book from Israel and he promised to take a better look at both books later. We also put in the bag we gave him a snack we brought him from Israel and he seemed excited about that too. I was so nervous, I forgot a lot of things I meant to tell him but at least I managed to talk more than I did last year so that's something… And they let us at least take a picture of David and the International fans book. They didn't even let him give fans a hug, the girl in front of us asked for a hug and he started getting up to hug her and he was told not to???? Only later when we where back at the hotel we found out that the rest of the band showed up, we unfortunately missed them. I was really disappointed I didn't get to meet Neal; I was dying to meet him and tell him what an amazing musician I think he is.
Oh yeah, and I got David to sign my MWK CD which he was in. I decided that no matter what they say, I have to take this opportunity and get him to sign that CD as well. I pulled it out of my bag at the last minute and asked him if he mind signing it as well, and David charming as ever of course said immediately yes and signed it before anyone said anything.
