Because I am chicken, I will post this here....

The feminist side of me can't shake the feeling that if we were a bunch of men who signed up on this site and stated that I find it distracting when he waves during the emotional peak of a song and hangs on the mic stand too much, that there would be "Oooo-ing" and "Aw-ing" over the wisdom of such observations and how DC should be aware of how men in the audience feel about his performances. But as fan-girly women, there is a sense that the proper role of the women here should be one of nurturance and anything outside of that is mean or unsupportive. And like many a good woman, some will use guilt to manipulate others back to their culturally preferred role.

My take
My take on David waving fans to cheer during an emotional song is he wants the distraction so he

does not start crying or getting to emotional and not be able to finish the song.

Great post
I totally agree with you. We've always been giving do's and don't's since the beginning. I don't see why we should change that just because a few people who have shown up get uncomfortable with it.
