Columbiaaaaa.

So, this was a good show. Unusually short though. There wasn't an opener, and normally he plays a longer set when there's no opener, right? Not that night. It was only 12 songs I do believe. But great nonetheless.

So, Kateland and I got to the fair at around 11, and met up with Jul, Nicole, Val, and Beth. If you don't know these people, just pretend that you do. So we go in there, and we know that David's bus is still at the hotel. So we eat, and then we ride a couple rides. Then we head over to the Grandstand to scope everything out. Just the crew bus was there. So we listened to them soundchecking and setting up for a LONG time. We called Andrew. He was on speaker, and all six of us were talking. Every time we'd say something, we'd all accidentally say it at the same time. xD It was funny. We talked for a long time too. And when he asked for our request, we all looked at each other... finally I spoke up and was like "Midwest Kings!" and he was like "Well... I'm actually playing that right now..." and I was like "...Oh." So Jul asked for some GRO. It was slightly embarrassing, but quite funny. And there was this ride, called like the Swing Tower, or the Spin Tower or something... and it was really tall and you spun around kinda slow on swings like a billion feet off the ground. And on it, you could see RIGHT into the grandstand. So of course, I pull out my camera and take pictures of it. I'm so creepy, but I couldn't resist xD

So the boys got there at 2:50 ish (I remember cause I checked the time because we'd been waiting over there for four hours already and it was 40 derees and raining...). We couldn't see because around the fence there was this thick, tight, green netting stuff that you could barely see through, but David and Kyle were throwing a football. Kyle was in ONLY a tank top and jeans. I don't know how he wasn't FREEZING, cause I was about shivering and I had on four layers. But this dude got out a video camera and started recording David... so David moved so that we couldn't see him. :\ I hate when people do dumb things like that and spoil it for everyone else. But so, they eventually went back on the bus.

They soundchecked Make Me, but no one sang... it was quite funny. You could hear it loud and clear though, since the venue was so open, yaknow. And Jul and Nicole REALLY wanted to meet Monty. That was there goal. So, we decided to shout out "WE LOVE YOU MONTY!" after Make Me. It was hilarious. And then They soundchecked Breathe Tonight... We were so excited, and David started "You..." and then no more words. That was the only word to the whole song that he sang! It was funny, but so irritating! I want Breathe Tonight so badly! It made me angry that they didn't play either of them during the actual show. But it's okay. After Andy singing Make Me in Gboro and then meeting them all afterward, I was more than satisfied. : )

So, we hand out for a while longer. Meet up with some more people. Drink some hot chocolate for warmth. Monty comes out, and walks out into the fair. He was like going fast as he was leaving, so we didn't bother him. As he was coming back, he stopped to talk a little and Jul and Nicole got their picture. Nicole asked if he heard us scream at him during soundcheck, and he did. He also complained that soundcheck was really weird, cause they couldn't get the bass right. But he goes back inside the fence eventually. Then walk around because Nicole was dying for some caramel popcorn, though we couldn't find it so we give up, only to find the stand selling it like and hour later. And they randomly had hot tubs like on display? So it was my genius idea to stick out hands in them to warm them up. Ummm, not smart, cause as soon as you take them out, you're freezing again. xD I'm stupid.

So we got into the grandstand at 6:30. It was cold and wet and icky weather. Turns out our seats weren't where we thought they were! They weren't good at all Sad We had two sets of 3 tickets, and we were using Kateland's. But then we traded with Kateland's mom, grandma, and my dad, and used my tickets, which were slightly better. And in the end, we just moved altogether, because there were lots of empty seats. I assume it's because the weather was so gross. I expected there to be a ton more people though! But we end up in like Row 12 or something, center. It was pretty good. Not ideal, but not bad. I was happy we got BBS, after it was skipped in Gboro. And David's deep fried banter was hilarious. : D And so much more. I just wish they would've played Breathe Tonight...

After the show, we had to leave. The security told us David wasn't coming out. Plus my dad wanted to get out of there. Turns out he didn't come sign, so we didn't miss anything. My dad was REALLY impressed with Kyle, as he always is. Kyle's my dad's favorite. And he though Neal was great too. He took some video with his iPhone, but it's from a bad angle and it's only partial songs. The audio's not bad, but I'm not going to post... too lazy, too much effort.

It was a great show, kinda short. But fantastic. Smiling

Me: Have fun in Fargo! I used to live there
Dave: Really, I can't tell! You don't have an accent! Or is that movie just bull?
Me: Yeah, it is just bull! (Swoons)

:)

I think David has only done a longer show a couple of times when there was no opening act. So it's not necessarily the norm.

They soundchecked Make Me sans singing at Cain's, too. We were all straining trying to figure out who was singing, and then we concluded that no one was. LOL

I heard y'all on Andrew's show! Laughing out loud
