DADDY / DAUGHTER / DAVID THING
This was definitely one of those daddy-daughter moments that will last long after I am gone (no time soon) and that I will continue to enjoy every day until then. I sometimes imagine her all grown up, with a family of her own, many, many years from now – and out of the blue she will hear an "old" David Cook song and remember how one night, when she was just thirteen years old, her dad took her to NYC to meet David Cook - and that he smiled at her and talked to her by name and gave her a hug and called himself “such a jerk for forgetting to sign her badge after she just gave him a present”. She was giddy with delight then and she still is now. On the other hand - she's already photo-shopped me out of the picture and made the picture of "her and david" into the wallpaper on her computer. So much for my immortality.

"Butterfly kisses" to you for being such a good dad
Wow. I"m impressed. I know that is is not easy to stay connected to your kids during the teen years, but you have captured a moment that you both will remember for a life time while on the road doing your day job. And, I am equally impressed that you shared your private experience in this forum.
You are a good dad.
Mom of two teens,
