Lilsugrnspice asked if I could draw her and David together. She edited a picture of herself with a picture of David and this is how it turned out. My first requested portrait!

Wow, These Are Awesome Drawings
Good job "LeaveTheLightOn", these drawings are fantastic. I think that the new picture (not from the contest) "Come Back To Me". It shows a lot of unique shades and black and white. Can't wait to see the new music video and more of your drawings.

I have enjoyed seeing all of your drawings these past few months. I'm sure they make you happy and others smile as well. Your family must be very proud! I like all of them, but if I had to choose I like the second one. Keep drawing! You have a gift.

Super Stuff
Someone messaged me to take a look at your blog because I'd commented that I was an art prof in real life. May I say you are very talented. Keep up the great work. You obviously love drawing the band and they are great subjects so just keep doing it. I don't think you intend to make any money off your art and that's good 'cos the photographer who took the photos in the first place own the rights to sell them.
I think the most successful drawing is the second one however I think it is remarkable that you have managed to get a resemblance to each of the band member's in their pictures. That is really hard to do in portraits.
My second favourite is the one of David on the couch from People Magazine. It has a great use of contrast (light and dark).
You might try other things to draw with besides hard pencils. Soft B2 or B4 pencils might be helpful or charcoal sticks or conte. The art masters used softer drawing tools so that they didn't have to work so hard to get shading.
I hope you love drawing because it is the basis for all art. Keep up the great work.

These are great! I like the top two, David with the micropbhone... especially the 2nd from the top, with his left arm showing, right hand holding the mic stand. The USO picture is also awesome.

I Like The Second One
My favorite drawing from all of these is the one where David Cook hold the mike. The reason why I find it the best in all of those other drawings is because he looks so passionate up on stage and details are so good. It just looks like a very nice piece of art to me.

13 You know what I am noticing with your drawings. In the last two you are starting to capture his
sensitivity and vulnerability in his facial expressions. As Soon as I saw the one with him and the microphone it jumped out at me. The one with the baby is sooo cute. You are really improving.
