FAQ for FoolsApril64, the Site Moderator
DECEMBER 24, 2008, 11:03 am
Greetings! In case you don't already know, my name's Lisa, and I'm a fellow David Cook fan (yes, really) who also acts as "moderator sidekick" to the site's "go-to official Web Nerd" RCAJosh.
As the Site Moderator of DCO, I get a LOT of private messages and often it's the same questions and so, following RCAJosh's lead, I've decided to create my own mini-FAQ to help answer some of these. Needless-to-say, this is another work-in-progress!
- QUICK LINKS everyone should visit for other answers to FAQ:
- Welcome to DavidCookOfficial.com! - Willkommen, bienvenue, welcome!
- FAQ - And we mean, frequently!
- Forum Etiquette - As RCAJosh likes to say, "Play nice now, and please use your 'inside voices'!"
- Terms and Conditions of Use - When TPTB speak, everyone listens.
- FAQ for RCAJosh, the Web Nerd - And he means, frequently!
- Are you a Web Nerd? Did you help create DCO? Do you work for SONY/BMG or RCA?
- No, I am not a Web Nerd, nor do I play one on TV.
- No, I did not help create DCO (again, I'm not a Web Nerd *smiles* ). Soon after joining DCO, I had, however, created an UNofficial FAQ for the site in an effort to help everyone until the Web Nerds had an opportunity to create an 'official' one. This UNofficial FAQ has since been adopted by the Web Nerds for the site as its 'offical' FAQ (very cool).
- No, I am not an employee of SONY/BMG or RCA. I am a fan who was approached by RCA to become the site's moderator, to which I agreed. I now dedicate some of my free time to help ensure the success of this online community and am happy to do so for all of you and in behalf of Mr. David Roland Cook.
- So, what do you do for DCO.com and its users?
As site moderator, my responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - answering or finding answers to user concerns and/or questions;
- helping the site's administrators enforce site policies (this includes, but is not limited to: acting as a peacekeeper, if and when necessary; editing, moving and deleting content, when and where appropriate; guiding discussions if and when appropriate; issuing warnings to and, in rare cases, banning users who violate site policies);
- finding ways of generating new topics/discussions and encouraging participation; and
- welcoming and helping new members.
- What do you NOT do for DCO.com and its users?
- I do not run the site (am not a Web Nerd) and therefore cannot update the events section nor change the forum's thread direction, organization, text size, etc.
- I cannot give you any inside scoop as to when David will next post a new vlog/blog/bulletin/PorkBeans, tour dates/locations, appearances, events, advance tickets, VIP/backstage passes; nor contacting or meeting David Cook, his band, his management, his PA, his family (including Dublin), his crew, etc., etc.
- I do not take suggestions on where David should tour.
- I do not accept, ask for, nor give out personal information.
- I do not have any say or influence as to who else TPTB may hand-pick to become a site moderator in future.
- Your AV is so cool ... are those CDs yours!? What are they?
- Thank you, and yes; I made the collage using scans from my treasured David Cook CD collection; they are, from top to bottom and left to right: Axium: Matter of Time; Axium: Blindsided; Axium: Blindsided Limited Edition; Axium: Alive in Tulsa @ the Venue; Axium: The Story Thus Far; MWK: Incoherent with a Desire to Move On; David Cook: Analog Heart; David Cook: Time of My Life (single); David Cook: Light On (single); and David Cook, the record.
