A FEW ANNOUNCEMENTS

Average: 4.7 (84 votes)

Hey everyone. Just checking in to give you guys an update on everything...

First off, we are sad to announce that Joey will no longer be playing bass for us. We are certainly sad to see him go, and wish him nothing but the best as he moves on to his next musical endeavor. Our good friend, Monty Anderson, will be filling in for the immediate future while we attempt, amidst the shows ahead, to find a permanent, viable replacement.

Secondly, we will be performing on August 7th in Central Park in NYC, as part of Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series. We will be sharing the stage with Adam and Kris from Season 8 of AI, so be sure to come out early and make some noise. Smiling

I really hope we get to see all your faces at the shows we have coming up. The crowds have been great so far, and we can’t thank you enough for supporting us as we go through this crazy experience.

See you soon, kiddos!

~D

P.S. - Be sure to check out Our Lady Peace’s new album, “Burn, Burn”. It’s amazing. Just saying.

Are you kidding me! Fan?
I waited in Albany 'all day' to see David after the show, but he had to take off right after the concert for NY City to throw a ball for the Mets. I didnt get to see him. I had been out side the building from noon to almost midnight waiting, and I am STILL a die hard fan. Take a moment out to realize he is extremely busy and may not be able to address 'all' of us. If you have ever been to one of his shows he always always makes a point to address the fans and show how important they are too him. The definition of fan is loyalty and support.

David, your doin an awsome job in this crazy wild ride youve found yourself in and your manners are RIGHT ON!
Love ya always

I spent most of November/ December 2008 alone. When I picked up your CD on Thanksgiving Day I listened to every song. over and over, Your words comforted me. Your album was my Christmas present to myself.. You lifted my spirit and gave me hope. What a beautiful person you are...you have a heart of gold.
Summer of 2008 I missed your Idol Tour....it disappointed me. When you are flocking back to the US- Please let me know!

I just wanted to say thank you for making my first concert experience a memorable one. I went to your show in Idaho Falls last night! I was lucky enough to inherit the first guitar pick you threw out and I'm so happy you were willing to give me a birthday hug! Thank you for sharing your amazing talents with all of us and still staying humble and grateful through it all. I hope my native state of MT treated you well, they are in for a treat! Lots of Love to my favorite American Idol and best of luck with everything.

David,
I don't know you or your work, but on our vacation to NY in August, my 10yr daughter (who WAS a fan) really wanted to meet you at your signing for Sketchers (we are fans of the shoes still) at JCP, Manhattan Mall. A wonderful friend of mine who lives in NY waited in line for an hour and we joined her for another hour, keep in mind the only reason we waited was for my daughter Katie & a group of her friends in Texas. There were only about 50 people left in line, we were one group behind a group of kids with down syndrome that were just about to go down the escalator and someone came up and said you had left. I have never waited in line for anyone. I have for worked for Film companies, agents, etc.. and have been around many famous musicians & actors. I don't know if it was your manager's decision or yours, but a major suggestion would be in a case where you have to leave suddenly; take 2 minutes out of your time and greet the people waiting to say, "Thank you for coming out, I have another engagement I have to be at right now, but I really appreciate your time!"
That's all. I promise you it would've impressed parents and kept young fans that might've stayed with you even in the lean years that may come down the line. I've seen it happen many times with performers that don't consider manners important, start to slide and lose fans. With the people we've told about our experience everyone commented on what a lack manners and good business practice that behavior shows.
Blow this off or maybe consider the suggestion, your choice.
Good luck.

Your concert at Musikfest was Awesome! Although we were way back...my husband & I just loved seeing our 2 daughters Rock Out to all your songs!! They know all the words (even our 3yr old son knows the melodies & words to your album...it's the only CD we've been listening to in the car since Christmas!) We stood by the screened fence waiting for you to come off the stage before the show started and you made my 9 yr.old's night when you came over and put your hand up against the screen and said hello to us. Hope you & the guys enjoyed the Tastycakes. We would love to meet you (not through a screen this time), but that was just as great. We're trying to get tickets to your Borgata, A.C N.J. show 9/26. We tried to meet you at the Keswick theater, Philly, PA , but we were only was outside before your show started. Well, we love your music and wish the best for you and the all the guys!!! Be safe!!

I saw you at the WV State Fair and you were amazing! I have never missed an episode of Idol since it's conception, and you are the first Idol I have ever seen live...let me tell you, I don't think any of the others could top your talent and performance. I also was one of the people that waited by the fence after the show and just wanted to say thank you so much for coming over to meet us and sign autographs! Best of Luck in the future Smiling

-Courtney

I wish you the best of luck in the future! Smiling

Hey,
We came to see you at the Delaware State Fair, all the way from Nottingham in England, and we were not disappointed. Thanks for an awesome show Smiling
Do you have any plans to do a tour in the UK? We would love it if you would come over here to perform. It was totally worth the trip to the States, but it would be fantastic if you came over.

David ....come to Salt Lake City - preferrably the E-Center. Just because Archuletta lives here doesn't mean that we don't want to see DC here. You have a lot of fans here, and I didn't see you
on any up coming schedules for Salt Lake! - Yet you are going to Idaho????

When are you coming to SLC?

We love you too!

Sue

Hi David! It's nice to know that even with your very busy sched, you still find time connecting/communicating to us, your fans.
Thanks for always keeping us in the loop.
I do hope you write blogs more often.

God bless you always!
We really miss you already here in Manila.
Hope you come back here soon for a solo concert.

To Joey, we will be missing you also. I wish you good luck!

David, I was there with my four year old niece "Makenzie" at her first concert. You said hi to her and totally made her evening. She danced all night long. She was so proud of her David Cook keychain I bought for her. You are a talented man and I wish the best for you. Thank you so much for the memory. MelleMel

David,
thanks for an absolutely awesome show at the Nokia on Thursday. Being there with you was such a thrill for me, it was just what I needed. Bar-ba-sol was so great I can't even tell you. I just wanted to jump out of my seat. It felt so good to get out and enjoy myself and forget about all the stress in my life. Like you said I didn't want to go home either. Oh well, guess it's back to reality. See you next year and thanks again for taking me away for awhile. Oh and that olive thing was so funny! You're the best!!!!

Love Ya,

Donna

Actually missed the GMA broadcast, but did see the video here. Did see you on Regis and Kelly. Great job with the song. Better yet, was in the audience at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ. The show was awsome and it was nice to see you close up, even though there was a lot of standing. You all seemed to have such a good time. Touring since February has got to be hard, but it didn't look it that night.
Great show!! You can really put over a song!

ps

haha, so i saw your vlog about the hollywood meet and greet, if i drive all the way to LA would i for sure get to meet you???? i love you and all but i dont think ill happy if i spend all that money on gas and dont get to have a hug and picture with you Smiling haha... anyways i hope you find a permanent bass guitarist. and i hope your family is doing well. you all are in my thoughts and prayers!

thanks~ lots of love!~

Hi David,

I just wanted to let you know how awesome the concert was on 8/3 at Musicfest in Bethlehem, PA!! I hope you'll be back to Musicfest real soon.

I also wanted to let you know how happy I was that the merchandise stand had my size in a few different shirts. I get so frustrated that I can never seem to get shirts in my size. You probably don't have much input into this, but I just thought I would let you know that your merchandise people are on the ball!!! Thank them for me!!!

Lastly, and you probably are getting asked this question all the time now, but are you going to rerelease Analog Heart??? I'm sure your fans, including myself, would love to have that CD to add to our collection!!

Love & Peace!!
Barb

Absolutely cannot wait to see you from my eighth row seat in Georgia. I'm sure it will be as awesome as everyone has said.

Hey D;

Sorry I haven't communicated in awhile. Computer problems and a vacation in Key West.
I got a henna tattoo. You can guess - the Chinese symbol for peace.

I can not wait to see you in Perry GA in October. Save all the good stuff for that show!

Always on my mind.

Are you going to hold auditions for a new bass player, or will you choose someone from the industry?

I was at the show 8/4 at Mr Smalls (the old church). What an awesome show!!!!! The only thing that would have made it better was to get to meet you. Will be at the Ohio State Fair on 8/8 and would love to get passes to meet you.

I think that you are incredible, your vocal range is unbelievable and you are a true artist and performer! I am looking forward to being your Fan for many years. Wish you would come to Florida!
God Bless,
Jennifer

It sucks that Joey's gone, and won't be in anymore videos on tour. Good luck finding a permanent replacement. I wish I could come to see you in NYC, but I live so far away. Good luck, though!

Keep Rocking!

Love Erin

P.S. I can't wait to check out Our Lady Peace's new album, they've been my favourite band for years now, I'm so happy you like them!
