July 15th 2009 Duluth Experience

am I the only one that didn't know that you and kioat were sisters? That's too cool.
I intend to finally write a blog for my profile now that archucookie has let the cat out of the bag. Actually, no cat was ever in the bag, just a personal preference not to mention it until she did. I'll try to explain that, how I arrived at DCO and why the gosh-awful spelling of coyote, some have asked me about, came to be.

archucookie (I assume kioat is doing her own recap?!)-I enjoyed your story more than I can tell you.
Are you kidding me!! Big sisters are much wiser than that. Never, ever, never retell one of archucookie's stories. I will, however, add a few thoughts.
The MsDarcy shirts, worn earlier in the day, were to attract other DCOers. We both neglected to pm LuvsDC and we wanted to meet some of you people. Other than feeling like a field trip for two, touring the Mariner Museum, it wasn't uncomfortable at all. After all, even if the words were big enough to read, no one but other DCOers would know what they meant. "Bacon?" didn't seem to help us make a connection either. We got a few startled looks and a few WTF looks but no takers. Between shows, out on the balcony, we tried, "Bacon?" again with similar results. One young lady asked us if we smelled bacon. I told her "No, that's just a code word. We're looking for some friends." She said, "You're right, it is a code word. It's the code for 'police in the area'." Aren't these young folks creative? Pigs nearby = smell bacon. The startled looks we'd been getting now made more sense. We need to come up with a new code word peeps. This one is frightening the young concert goers into behaving themselves.
Tis all true, archucookies tale of the Good, Bad, Ugly, Awesome and Sweet. The bus stalking from afar, the near miss Neal photo, the disgusting odor (I nearly ruined ac's shoes) crazy drunken fans, the security nazis, the awesome DC/EEB, Albertha the LOUD. (I'm pretty sure you can hear her on the krynicki2120’s You Tube of CBTM at about .18), The Look (an eye to eye, Bossy Dave, “How dare you, this is my concert, it’s supposed to be all about me”, tongue-in-cheek look) and The Hug.
It wasn't just a hug. I watched hugs going on with the fans before her and they were nice but obligatory on his part. This one was in appreciation for someone who had made his fan interaction part of the job amusing. It was our objective to amuse, if possible, and dang if she didn't accomplish that! That's little sister for ya! I was so happy for her, I forgot to be jealous.
So, we got to meet David Cook. This was a new David for me. I've met the Idol David Cook, I've met the interview David Cook, I've met the DCTR David Cook, I've met the You Tube performer DC with his EEB and even the in person Concert DC/EEB but this is the first time I've ever met the RL David Cook. Or, at least, as close to the RL DC any of us are going to get. This David is soft spoken, sweet, patient, funny, and extraordinarily ordinary. Just Dave. Watching him, I felt like the proud aunt of a talented, intelligent, cute nephew. I'd have no problem sitting down with "Dave" for an informal chat about how his life is going and other topics only a busy-body aunt would bring up. Will this change my perception of “The David Cook, Rock God”? Idk, we’ll see. I may be up to balancing the two. One to squee at and one to fuss at about his haircut.

Love You Both
What fun I have had tonight reliving your experiences! Thank you for sharing. What fabulous siblings and great storytellers you are.

Love is gathering...
Thanks
It's so cool that you share a love for DC. I knew how to pronounce Kioat from the picture. I often think of David like a proud aunt, too. That's how I would best explain myself as a fan to him, if I had to. He must have some way to explain us to himself, too.
To me he is the most romantic figure, a combo of Cinderella and Prince Charming with a larger than life personality, larger than life talent and brilliance, and out of this world voice. And he just goes along in his life like that, being a normal guy with his dog and his friends and his guy sense of humor and his love of sports.
Double Cool!
Kioat - the story telling talent runs in the family. Now that I know you are sisters, I will always think of you both like THIS.

For every moment of joy, every hour of fear, for every winding road that brought me here...this is my thanksgiving.
*waves*
I was one of the many who didn't realize y'all were sisters. That's awesome that you can enjoy David shows together
And I totally butchered your username. I think I was pronouncing it the way normanthecat was. But now I know it's Ky-Oat. LOL

"If I could have a super power, I'd like the ability to...fly...so I can, you know?...soar...with...the birds."
Oh! It's "K-eye-oat!"
And, to think, all this time I've been pronouncing it "etheral" in my head. Or, wait, no, I think it was "Kee-oh-at." But you're just a regular ol' two-syllable coyote. Who knew? (Er, maybe everyone but me, come to think of it, but, what can you expect? I've been trapped in a bag for months...)
Love your additions to archucookie's recap. Love "extraordinarily ordinary." Love knowing that "bacon" isn't the foolproof code word we all thought it would be. Love you and archucookie, and thanks for sharing.
Awesome addendum!
So cool that you and archucookie have this interest (to put it lightly...heh) to share. Sounds like an awesome experience, again, except for those few...annoyances. "Albertha the LOUD" made me picture a viking lady, complete with helmet/horns/braids...lol.

You are Both My Favorites.....
I can't believe how fepically awesome you're experience was. I'm so happy for you. Thanks for the recap.
THANK YOU
Thanks Kioat for adding to archucookie's recap. I really would like to meet that regular ordinary Dave. I think it will help me a lot even if I stand on the side and watch him, but to have eye to eye contact or even a one second hug, to say thank you and I'm proud, would really be a dream come true. I'm so happy you and archucookie shared that moment.
I can tell you're proud of your little sis and so are we. Just curious a bit about keeping it quiet. Was little sis testing you? Ha ha . You must have passed the test if she was. I would like to hear your DCO story and that kioat spelling too whenever you want to share.

Ding!
Great recap kioat
You and ac are like the dynamic duo. I know after my first concert experience it was hard to get my fangirl back on.....but a few videos and pictures from other concerts brought her back full swing. Give it time. You won't be able to help yourself. Except for the flatulence, I would have loved to have been there with you.

Has he mastered Bacon, yet? Hopefully he won't set the Teal Drapes on fire by accident.
