Today is a big day in David-land. I wrote a haiku about it in the haiku thread and then got carried away and wrote two more poems that didn't belong there! So I moved them here.

DCO, I miss you
My time is short, my interest high
Catch up? It's futile to try

Warm and yet strange,
The tug on my heart
I know not one of you
Yet feel such a part
Of everything here,
Though my posts may be few
My heart does go out
To each of you

David, what have you done?
Given me pause amidst my life?
My days of the mundane, flooded with light?
Why you, a guy who once lived down the street?
So close, though we may never formally meet?
How strange, that I have cried when you cried,
Laughed when you laughed
While exploding inside?

Now as a fan (not a mom, nor lover, nor friend),
I want to see you through to the end
I hope in some way I can do my small part
While you go about handing the world your own heart.
