Great show. No New song. He did soundcheck a new song maybe next concert. The camera nazi's were out in full force so I am not sure how much video will be out there.
The concert started early so I missed The Script's first song. But I liked them. They have high energy. The lead singer is very charismatic. He can sing and they sound good live. They are a good looking band. The crowd did not show them enough love.
David's band is more professional each time I see them. They are so good but I think that they have toured the s*** out of this record and it really is time for a new music. They were flawless as usual.
Lie was better than ever, they have changed it more and it is the standout in the show. The 3000+ crowd was completely silent during the acapella. I mean I did not think that this song could be better but it was the best tonight. It was a stellar performance.
Light On also stood out for me. He sounded wonderful on this song and Neal's guitar work stood out. This is a great song. I love it live and will always think that this song is fantastic live.
Adam was something else. He went into the crowd and sang it. The crowd surged towards him, he was surrounded I was glad he had security because people were running towards him and surrounding him. He took it in stride kept singing, sang the first woo woo's out in the crowd you could barely see his head sticking above the crowd. I was a great close to the show.
All the other songs were good. IDIFY was impressive with the guitars at the end. And with Heroes he took off his guitar halfway through and worked the crowd from the stage.
I think he missed a song. He did not realize it until afterwards and they never put it back in it was KOTN. You could see that he realized he missed it and he went over to Neal before Declaration and talked to him or something like that. Kyle gave him a shake of the head and a puzzled look that showed on the jumbotron. It did not affect the show. It was still a wonderful show. It did not feel to short. ETA: I think that KOTN was scratched out before the concert and when he went over to Neal before Declaration it was because he was joking about Declaration being the first song. Forgive me I was tired when I typed the first version.
I was happy with this my last show. I love this band but I think that the wait for the new record and a new tour will be a good one. I feel for the first time I think that I don't want to see them again until they have new music to perform.
I met coolshades, archucookie and kyoat and their families and they are the nicest people and it was great to meet them. I ran into Angie again. And a gal from Edmonton, Hello, but I forgot her name. Missed a bunch of other fans but it is the way of it.
Now to David's looks. He is thin. I can say this. He is really thin. His shirt still fits tight on his arms and shoulders but his pants are loose fitting. He has lost a lot of weight and I am not sure why Scott said he was beefy. He is now the thinest I have ever seen him. He looks good. Handsome, beautiful really. Black shirt, rose necklace, new bracelets, jeans with nice boots. Why do folks say he does not care how he looks? He was really put together well for this show and always is. Sigh
The rest of the band looked good. We saw Kyle for a few minutes after the show and Archucookie gave him something she had made for them a picture of all the band with their names on it. It was nice. Kyle was gracious and thanked her. I did not see anyone else after the show. BTW Kyle is a very handsome young man.

The Sky's the Limit...or something like that.
Good to hear your take on the concert. Like you, it was my last Declaration Tour concert, but certainly not my last DC&TA adventure. We are hungry for new stuff, aren't we? I'll bet Dave is too.
I'm kicking myself now for not having lunch with you and just talking more. Well...we can do that on this site...right? Now I can put your sweet face to the words, so yay-ness! I hope the sisters didn't freak you out.
Stay cool, my cyber and now real live friend, you.

Fantastic Recap
You covered everything I wanted to know and more and I thought he looked really thin when he did Keswick. I have to say, the man always looks amazing.
Thanks again!
Thanks for the recap
I am glad to see someone agree that David does always looks great and he does care about his appearance. I agree he is very thin and hopefully this "diet " is for health not weight. I thought he seemed
a little emotional I think being back at doing what he loves and I love that he shows that to us. Thanks

love Mr. Sensitive=David Cook
AWWWW Sky!
Wonderful recap! Everything we want to know and more. It sounds like your experience was well worth the trip and I'm so glad you enjoyed your 'last show'. Can't wait to hear more when you get home!
Great recap
I agree - I never understand those who say David doesn't care how he looks. I always thinks he suits the occasion, from grungy at college shows to dressed up on TV, to everything in between at fairs & theaters. I do think when the tour was at its peak, 4 and 5 shows a week with long bus rides, it was a challenge to pull a really well groomed look together. But he is fashion conscious and always seems very clean to me LOL!
I really did think he looked beefy at the Underwood taping. And certainly during the September west coast shows. What's really interesting about you saying he looked so thin, is that he commented how much crap he's been eating on vacation and decided to go on that raw food diet. If he's like me, he puts on his weight in the gut and not in the legs or tush. Fortunately he's taller than me so the right clothes can make him seem much thinner.
I think he's been "over" DCTR for a while now. He will always work his butt off on stage, and always be engaging. The band will always be at their professional kick ass best. But I've said for 6 weeks now that David is clearly looking ahead (and looking forward) to the next chapter and the next album. I'm hoping some of the biggest surprises will be NYE in Pechanga... which is technically not part of the Declaration Tour and is just a two-day New Year's celebration - hoping he tries out new material and pretty much does what he wants... and goes longer.
Sweet Ending
Hey sky,
Glad your last show ended in such a complete/satisfied place. This run has been great but I understand what you saying about touring "the s*** out of" this record. For everything there is a season and all that.
Your recap is great, just like talking to an old friend getting loving, honest appraisal of people we really care about. I've enjoyed sharing this tour with you.
Very nice recap
Hi Sky: really enjoyed your recap. I love the mix of how you presented your informationin a very kind of factual way but it was interspersed with the odd "sigh". I will be seeing them on Nov 16 as perhaps my last show but don't know if I will feel ready to part with them at that point. There are still a few songs I have never heard live or as often as I wish. But that must be a very satisfying feeling for you; as you know we all usually leave the concert wanting more.. and I don't think you are implying "boredom" just "contentment" and contentment is a gift in its own way.
I agree that David is very thin. I have felt that for some time. In person on stage he seems "larger than life" but from being face to face with him in Ottawa off stage I could see how thin he looks. I think he looks great well more than great; gorgeoliscious is my new term for him. I don't think he needs to get thinner, perhpas his raw food diet is more about "health" than "weight' He is extremely handsome and I agree, I wonder why people say he doesn't care how he looks; you don't spend time putting on all those beads if you don't care!
And how nice you got to meet Kyle. Yes, he is very stunning!
Thanks for the recap...

Lovely recap
Sounds like a lovely show, if you can say that about a rock show. Heh. But seriously, what a great way to end your DeTour travels and experiences.
Safe travels
