Today was soooo full of win!! We decided to drive over to the campus because I wanted to meet Andy and get my THH cd signed. Well shortly after we got there someone that Daina knew(Cathy thanks so much!) came over to tell us that the girls next to her in line had extra tickets. They sold them to us for face value which was $10! Thank you to my ticket angels!!

I have to say that we hung out with some of the nicest people in line today. Everyone was relaxed and chatting and just having a great time. The weather was beautiful, close to 70 degrees. A nice change since a week ago we had a storm here that dumped a foot of snow on us.

Every so often we would wander around the corner to see if anything was happening at the bus. I finally got me meet Andy WOOHOOOO!!! It was nice because it was quiet and I got to talk to him for a little bit. But nobody else was back there at the time to take a pic for me(but I got one after the show). Daina and I got lucky and wandered back in time to see them filming something. Dave was in his Terry the light tech outfit(not sure if he wore the scraggly black wig with that before). Andy and a few other people were filming. AI Extra was there with Ace Young. A very nice security guy named Mike told us that he heard MTV was there filming too. So god only knows where film of Dave dressed as Terry is going to show up lol. We were all hysterical laughing at him and he looks over and yells "What are you laughing at??" So someone yells out "The hair it's funny" and Dave responded with "That's the answer I was waiting to hear. Keep on keepin on!" A little while later he came out all dressed for the show in his shiny jeans, t shirt and no beanie(he added a vest for the show). He signed and took pics with everyone. He was in such a good mood and said that everyone kicked the flu bug. We tried to get some hints on the plot of the CBTM video but not even Joey was talking. All Dave would say was "Time will tell but I will say it involves an airport". He told us they were having problems with the sound system in the venue all day. He got this funny look and said that he hoped he would be able to give us a show. I asked what would he do if they couldn't get it working...acoustic set?? He chuckled at that and said "you never know".

Because of the sound system problems they let us in a bit late to the venue. First they let us in the building and then 25 at a time let us into the seating area. The first two rows were shorter than the rest and row one was right up against the stage. We ended up dead center right in front of Dave in the second row. The view was AMAZING!! The only change to the set list that someone posted was that he added HFT! Halfway through his set you could smell something burning. He announced "This is a first for us. We just blew out the lights but it's ok nobody is in danger" LOL flag So we're all just sitting there cheering with the smell of electrical fire around us. Nobody was leaving.

I cried when he sang Permanent. It just really got to me tonight and was so beautiful. At the end of the show during the ADAM whoa whoas Neal and Dave climbed up on equipment cases on the sides of the stage. At the very end Dave bent all the way down and seemed a bit choked up. It was a fantastic show despite the blown lights, late entrance and sound system scare etc. Not sure how many good videos will show up. They announced at the start of the show that anyone caught taking video would be escorted out of the venue. The alligator head was there with a rubber chicken in it's mouth. Every time I looked that way I cracked up.

We headed out to the bus and got a spot right at the barricades. Got to greet and talk to all of the guys and got some nice photos. I told Dave that Permanent made me cry but that it was a good cry. He reached out and gave me the sweetest hug and squeeze. I thanked him for HFT and said when I tried to teach Monday morning with no voice I was going to blame it all on him. Joey is just a funny guy I adore him. Neal is so not like he looks at all he's such a teddy bear. He is VERY talkative and huggy, not what I was expecting. So since Neal seemed so eager to chat I asked if I could ask him a question just because I was curious. He said sure so I asked how the hell they managed to do laundry on the tour. He said he hadn't had to because he packed WAY TOO MANY CLOTHES but that Dave had to do his laundry a lot lol.

Halfway through the line tonight a fan gave Dave a box of Dunkin Donuts. He stopped signing and yelled over to Joey "JACKPOT DONUTS!!" So Joey goes running over and grabs the box and hugs it his chest. Then they were reading the box out loud...."Zero grams of trans fat??". They brought those donuts onto the bus like they were a box of precious gems lol.

Dave was showing pics of Dublin like a proud Daddy.

A young girl was celebrating her Sweet Sixteen at the concert with her friends. One of them had a sign that said she was having THE TIME OF MY LIFE at (I forget the girl's name) sweet sixteen. Well Dave read the sign from the stage. The look on his face as he read "The Time of My Life" was priceless. It was like AHHHH NOOOOOO not the magic rainbow.

Random notes: The crocs were black and he didn't just wear them with his Terry the light tech outfit. He wore them with his regular clothes later in the day. But the elf boots were back for the show. The college food service truck dropped off a nice spread with veggie trays and a bunch of other stuff. But apparently that was too healthy for Dave who headed over to Wendy's for dinner. The crowd was very mixed with people there from 6 to 60 years old. There were some empty seats in the back but not many. Daina took some awesome photos so I'm sure you'll be seeing those soon. The actual concert part of the day flew by so quickly. I know he sang for a while but I could have listened to his beautiful voice forever!

Since I live out West and am unlikely to see DwEEB for a while, I flove, flove, flove recaps and pics! I love your bits about meeting the guys - they're still so dratted down to earth. Kyle's parents must think they died and went to Heaven to have their son fall in with this particular "den of thieves". Think where else he may have landed in the rock world. I'd love to see proud daddy's pictures of Dublin. Best of all you got a hug. Thanks for sharing.

Great recap.
