What, no Edelweiss?
You're not happy to meet me?
David Cook, David Cook
Every morning you greet me
Shirt of white
Pantz so tight
You look happy to meet me
Fanbase of Cook may you bloom and grow
Bloom and grow forever
David Cook, David Cook
Give me Arm Porn forever.

How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria
Friday, October 30, 2009 - 10:15
MsCRC:
I had to get on the Sound of Music fun. Love all the parodies. A small disclaimer. I don't really care about David's hair. It really does not bother me at all. He always looks great to me no matter what he wears or does with his hair. I'm always the last one to notice anything about outfits, boots, jewelry, but I'm all about having some fun.
----------------------
How do you solve the problem like Dave's hair?
How do you tame the angst that it's become
How do you find a word to describe the hair?
A locktopus, Under beanie, Really hot!
Many a things you know you'd like to tell Dave
Many a things you thought he'd understand
But how do you make him stay
And listen to all you say?
How do you keep the hair from being panned?
Oh, how do you solve a problem like Dave's hair?
How do you tame the wildness of those bangs?
When I see Dave, I'm confused
Out of focus and bemused
And I never know exactly where I am
Unpredictable as weather
His hair's as flighty as a feather
It's just perfect, it's just awful, I don't care
Hair as stubborn as a pest
Has to pass the fanwank test
It could throw a whirling dervish out of whirl
Hair is gorgeous! Hair is wild!
Hair's a riddle! Hair's restyled
It's a headache! It's a monster!
It's just Dave.
How do you solve a problem like Dave's hair?
How do you style the bangs, not pin them down?
What is so important about the hair?
Hair should look perfect, on the town
Many a thing you know you'd like to tell him
Many a thing he ought to understand
But how do you make him stay
And listen to all you say
How do you keep the hair from being panned?
Oh, how do you solve a problem like Dave's hair?
Enjoy it in all, it's perfect, every strand!

Climb Every Mountain

archucookie:
Bobs.mom You're killing me. Anthemic Music is your best yet!!!
Before catchup, I couldn't resist one more.
Imagine Neal in a nun suit. What? It's almost Halloween.
He/she turns to the window and sings...
Climb every barstool
Get high when low
Jack at every party
Vodka when alone
Booze, beer, and metal
Gore and bloody scenes
Sing and tat the rainbow
Til I make Dave scream
A drink’s what I need
If you have it to give
Every day I stock beer
On the bus where I live
Fall off my barstool
Piss a gnarly stream
Puke up a chupacabra
And live my F-ing dream

The Sound of Music
Thursday, October 29, 2009 - 20:12
bobs.mom:
Okay. Just one more and I'll stop. This one is for you Swanny since you are contemplative:
The bar is alive with The Anthemic music
With songs they have sung, some for many years
The band fills my heart with the sound of music
My heart wants to sing every whoa-whoa it hears
My heart wants to beat like Kyle's drums as the sticks
that rise from the cymbals to the snare
My heart wants to sigh as Neal’s fingers fly
with such mastery and flare
To laugh like Dave when he trips and falls over
over cords in the way
To sing like Andy and hoping that Monty stays.
I go to the shows when my heart is lonely
I know I’ll hear Dave as I’ve heard before
My heart will be blessed with Anthemic music
And I’ll sing till I’m hoarse

Do Re Mi
Thursday, October 29, 2009 - 11:09
bobs.mom:
In the tradition of horse beating, I had a million ideas running through my head about the New SoM. I promise this will be the last from me. SybilT has already added her contribution to the musical and I’m sure others of you are dying to tap into your inner Rodgers and Hammerstein. Still waiting for Minstrel’s “How Do Solve a Problem Like Neal Tiemann.”
Act 2, Scene 3: ( Picklesprite is appalled that the boys have had no formal vocal training. She takes them on a drinking binge at the Grey Snail and teaches them the basic vocal scale.)
Pickle: “Neal, put the bottle down. Dave, stop pulling at your shirt." (Picking up Neal's guitar and starts plunking)
P: Let’s start at the very beginning,
A very good place to start
When you read you begin with A,B,C.
When you sing you begin with Dough, Ray, Me.
Boys: Dough, Ray, Me
P: The first three notes just happen to be,
Dough, Ray, Me
Boys: Dough, Ray, Me.
Pickle: Oh Sh*t. Let me see if I can make this any easier:
(Descending scale)
Dough, the green that David makes
Ray, is not what we call Kyle
Me, a name Monty calls himself
Fa, a long, long way you’ve come
Sew, what Neal does on the bus,
La, what Andy likes to sing,
Tea, a drink with fried foods
Thank will bring us back to Dough, oh, oh, oh
(mad drum solo)
Piclke: Now sing it with my boys. David you can have the last glory note and Neal end it with a mad guitar solo, but not like the note at the end of Let Go, please.
(FYI - Sasha - I did not post this from the bathroom. My colleagues would have thought I was constipated if I had.)

So Long, Farewell (Intro)
Thursday, October 29, 2009 - 16:33
archucookie:
Bobs.mom I love you. (I'd say "that is all" but I'd be lying cause I wanna play.)
I already did a parody of "How do you solve a problem like Maria" way back when Rocky kept sneaking out of the nunnery to the the cafe with internet to catchup up on DWoP. I think it poofed with 2.0
SybilT love yours too and I was working on "So Long" til I saw yours. Oh well...I'll do the intro part.
There's a sad sort of tagline from our site where we post
And a bell that we hear from too (Ding!)
And out there on twitter an absurd little bird
Keeps tweeting out "You are cuckoo." (Cuckoo, cuckoo)
Bleary eyed I backwards read us
And hope that Dave will tweet us
Until Bobs.mom...from you:
So long, farewell
Good night you old thread you

So Long, Farewell
Thursday, October 29, 2009 - 11:20
SybilT:
"So Long, Farewell"
So long, farewell,
Auf wiederschen, goodbye
When Dave is gone
I really want to cry,
Twitter is fine but I need song
Pictures do not suffice.
So long, farewell
Auf wiederschen, goodbye
The armz, the pantz
So heavily I sigh
But Arm Porn alone is not enough
I need some live Dave!Trance.

My Favorite Things
Wednesday, October 28, 2009 - 18:14
bobs.mom:
(Lightning flashing, crashing thunder...flashes of AL cd cover)
Now, now DwoPers don’t be scared. Here, jump up in the bed with me. Do you know what I do when I get frightened or angsty? I think of my favorite Dave things.
What’s that you say? Well let’s see...(looking contemplative)
Dave on red carpet..(pause) and whiskers on Dave’s face..
Bright colored tattoos and a warm Dave embrace
Sweet David’s ass tied up in tight jeans
These are a few of my favorite things.
(oom pah pah, oom pah pah, oom pah pah, oom pah pah)
(rises up to knees on bed)
Cream colored complexion and beautiful eyes
Arm Porn and shoe size and hard as rock thighs
Wild band that flies with their fingers on strings
These are a few of my favorite things.
(oom pah pah, oom pah pah, oom pah pah, oom pah pah)
(grabs Cathryn by the hands and swings her around)
Boys in black jeans with S&B shirts
A Voice that stays in my soul till hurts
Silver and Truth that melt my heart strings.
These are a few of my favorite things (glory note-ish)
When the angst bites
When the critics sting
When I’m feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite Dave things
And then I don’t feel so bad.
(Okay, Yak - you take the second time through. You sing better than I do.)
This song is from the remake of the Sound of Music. The new version is a story about a picklesprite that is asked to leave the pickle jar and become a nanny to a baby rock band. Some of the other song selections on the new soundtrack include:
Doe, the Green That David Makes
How Do Solve a Mystery Like Neal Tiemann
Blackjack Vice
Beth Must Have Done Something Good
The Bar is Alive With Anthemic Music
(and the all time children’s favorite...)
The Lonely Guitar Herd.

16 going on 17
(DwoP)
You wait young man
On an empty stage.
Your life young man
is an empty page
that women will want to post on.
(David)
To post on
(DwoP)
You are 26 going on 27,
David it's time to think.
Better beware.
Be canny and careful.
David you're on the brink.
You are 26 going on 27.
Women will fall in line.
Eager young gals
and groupies, yes scads
will proffer their valentines.
Totally unprepared are you
to face a world of women.
Stay wary and wise and single or you
will wind up in their den.
You need someone
older and wiser
helping you find the way through.
Don't read their tweets that pretend to be sweet.
We will look after you.
(David)
I am 26 going on 27.
A normal and healthy guy.
Women I meet they tell me I'm sweet
and offer their O-reos deep fried.
I am 26 going on 27 women line up in rows.
I still keep my word to stay put at third,
as far as anyone knows.
Totally unprepared am I
To face the throngs of them.
Timid and shy and scared am I
To feel the prongs of them.
But, I need no one
Older and wiser
Telling me what to do.
I am 26 going on 27.
I've time to work this through.
