I just found out today that you lost your brother on Friday. I am truly sorry for your loss. I also am sorry that you feel you had to justify to anyone your actions on May 2nd or the days leading to or the days following. Grief is personal and you and your family deserve to deal with the pain and loss in your own way.
After seeing him on AI routing you on and everything that you and your parents have said about him, I definitly believe that he would have wanted you to carry on. Don't worry, "he was not alone" and he will live on through you, your music and your genuine dedication to a cause that has touched many lives and more families than ever goes reported. I know, I lost my best friend a few years ago. Your song "Permanent" and his name on your guitar will always be a beautiful reminder of who your fans never knew but came to catch a glimpse of what a brave soul he was through you.

I also lost someone very dear to me with Brain Cancer back in February and I still miss him. He was 34 and so talented. I sometimes pick up the phone to call him, then realize I can't. I am grateful that I had him in my life and will always have fond memories.

Just wanted to say that I was so happy to be able to see you live at SUNFEST last night. You rocked the stage and it was amazing. You are so talented- if you didnt win on American Idol I would have stopped watching the show. It was CRYSTAL clear that you were the most talented.
There were people at SUNFEST last night who were commenting on how good you were, people who didnt watch AI. You have new fans as of last night. We waited after the show hoping you would come out and sign autographs but they said you had left already.
Hope you enjoyed your 'run' in DC today. The cause is dear to my heart too. My cousins 2 yr old boy is going through chemo right now due to a brain tumor. Another friends daughter is now 6 in remission from the same thing. Your brother is in our prayers.

David, I'm so impressed every time I hear something about you or something you have sang. My heart goes out to your brother for struggling with his illness and to you for being such an outstanding person. Living life having a loved one being sick is difficult. Their illness not only affects them but those around them as well. I can speak from experience. When Idol first came out, my father told me I should do it....I don't have the guts but you just on a whim, did it and was successful...I'm impressed and look forward to listening to you over and over again as soon as November 18th arrives. Not to mention looking at your photos, cause you are HOT !!!! Thanks
i always realize that the singers/bands that really try to connect with their fans always turn out to go really far. the most people want to listen to their music. i think david cook is amazing and i was rooting for him on american idol since the audition.
So i've been pretty depressed today because I had a funeral for a good friend of mine but this video absolutely cheered me up and made me feel a lot better so I just wanted to thank you David. I hope all is well with you and I love you.

I was lucky enough to make two concert dates on the tour and you absolutely didnt disappoint. I suspect you will continue to suprise me with your amazing talent. The show in KC was the most fun I had at any concert ever (and I have been to more than my share). I loved it so much that I braved the edges of Hurricane Ike just to make sure I could see you one last time in Tulsa. It was well worth the 7 hour drive. I was able to make the preshow stuff that time and love my autographed picture! I was sorry you were so rushed that day, but at least I was one of the lucky ones. I have no doubt your new album will be your best yet, but I have to admit that The Story Thus Far is still one of my favorite albums. I found it a few years back quite by accident when a friend who had seen one of your shows gave it to me because she thought I would like it. I look forward to following your career and buying as much of your music as I can.
