What a Suprise...

Holy cussword. Half this album is good... And not just American Idol good. Here are my standouts:

Lie: Have no idea why I love this one. Maybe the pretty upper register? It floats along the melody real nice like.
Mr. Sensitive: This rock ditty makes me think of flying. I iiiiii!!!! Would like to introduce my fav or ite.
Permanent: Made my chest hurt... . In a good way. Love my voices laced with tears and strings.
Barbasol: Fantastic. Gritty. Pounding. Visceral. No need for complete sentences here.
Kiss On The Neck (hidden track): A proverbial middle finger to the contractual Magic Rainbow bonus track that follows. Insightful lyrics set to a throwback groove. Fun raunch. Should be the next single. Won't be.
A Daily AntheM: Meant to be heard in big ass stadiums. No other word for this song but sweetness.

As for the rest...
If I heard them on the radio I would guess they were AI produced. And I would be right.
Declaration: It's almost good but the lower notes sound awkward. Embrace your inner "Steve Perry" Cookie. You'll still rock (no worries).
Light On: See previous review.
Avalanche: Really obvious Goo Goo Dolled chorus that ruins his silvery falsetto in the verses.
Come Back To Me: "Wind in your hair". Not written by David. I rest my case.
I Did It for You: Meh city.
Heroes: Another almost good one. Solid (countryish) melody. Not arresting enough lyrically. Probably the next single.
Life on the Moon: Stop enunciating your o's like ewww's. It's not Life on the Mewwwn, mmkay?
Time of My Life: Blech.

My overall complaint: 6/8 time signature total domination.
My overall compliment: He means what he sings.

When is Record # 2 coming out again?
