A Tiny Providence Recap, to Wit, It Rocked
First off, David said that the Northeast was always really warm and good to him and that we were his favorites, so all the other points on the compass can SUCK it! NE ruuuuules!
Ryan Star said Psycho Suicidal Girl was about Cook, which I think we knew. Or made up, previously.
I had a dream which I can't remember but it had bats and Andy Skib in it. Thanks nealfingtiemann. OK it might have been the enormous foamy latte I had with normanthecat and Kvon before getting in the car.
Providence is the size of a closet but you can still get lost in it. There are a lot of steeples, art students, and tiny loopy streets that take you back to that one square you thought you were walking away from.
I liked the view from the balcony at Lupo's cause you could see all the activity with everyone. It felt like you could drop something onto Monty's hat or down Cook's shirt. Not that I would.
And how much do I love Monty for being the new bearer of the Jaunty Little Hat? Tons.
It was great to hang out with Cathryn (CDHero), her indulgent teen daughter, her Japanese exchange student, sylvanaire, normanthekat, and kvon. Missed chat time with jasmine and Cori (Aheadofstraight) and many others of you, but we were all in the same Cook saturated space at the same time, so yaaay!
I was in Bandtrance and once the gig started forgot all about twittering or any reports to the outside world. Hopefully there was lots of good outward bound fan reportage which I will go read!
When they did "Make Me" and Dave for part of not only threw the lead to Andy, but switched places with him, I loved the performance, and also David Cook and his wonderful friends. Thanks, boys.
I was so tired that when I got home I fell into bed with my little paper concert wristlet still on, and nearly my boots!
It felt like such a full circle. My very first concert for these dudes was the David Wright Gala (still grateful for the amazing generosity of a fellow fan who shared a ticket and just asked for a donation to the Wright Foundation in lieu of payment). And the DAWG happened in November of last year. And when we drove down, it was a very mild fall day, blue sky and last gold leaves.
And now the calendar is nearly all the way around again. What an amazing year! I feel like there so much more to say, but I'm too wiped to be Meaningful right now, except:
Love you David Cook. You and your band and some of the most Awesome Fans in the Universe have made for an astounding year of music, travel, shared stories, passionate debates, laughs, hopes, squeals of joy . . .
and beer. Lots and lots of beer.

Wasn't it lovely? We felt your presence up there in the balcony - glad you had a great time. What a year, what a year! And there is no end in sight really.

Love is gathering...
the North East Rocks!
I am thankful I never dreamt about bats..
But I once got lost in a closet.
I so would have dropped something down Cook's shirt.
Love David Cook and his buds
Wine would be better.
Love you although don't know who the heck you are.
Great mini.
