York Fair Recap!
Ok I have a computer so I can do recap finally!!! It's lengthy so bear with me.
This was my 3rd time seeing David and the guys. Each time a different experience but this was by far the most amazing for me. I went with my best friend who also went with me to Dickinson College in March and my other friend Rachael who is happy listening to any concert. Unfortunately I cannot seem to cookify my best friend Shaynia but that's ok.
We got to the fair around 7ish and I was freaking out (as skychiefs could tell you, i think i texted her 3 times asking if there was a line...sorry for that lol) so the 3 of us ran out of the car and to what we thought was the venue (it said Toyota on it...oops) but when we got there there were just cows and chickens and I said yeah i don't think this is it. We realized it was across the way so we ran over there and got in. There was no line whatsoever and was actually fairly empty which suprised me because VA Beach was packed and even Dickinson was crowded. So we found our seats in the 6th row Skib side and i noticed the seat numbers on our tickets were weird but I didn't really think it would be a big deal because the chairs were packed sooooo tight together. Before Phil started these 2 girls were making a stink with us about how they paid $200 for the seats we were in that were apparently theirs (they weren't, I made sure, we tried to compromise something) I ended up sitting on my friend rachael's lap for a bit. I was getting worried because by this time I had called Mandy to cellcast Phil but the girl was still making a big deal. even the people around us were like oh just chill it's a foot of a difference. So cellcast world, I apologize if you heard that girl and her whining.
Finally Phil came out and I'm a huge fan of his and have been for awhile. Unfortunately I couldn't stand because there was no room for me to stand for him so I sat with the phone behind me. I heard the cellcast was clear so I'm really glad, I was worried it wouldn't be. Phil was awesome, then I noticed movement behind the stage and sure enough there are Dave Andy Monty and some of the crew (Gabe maybe) watching Phil's set. Me and my friend Rachael started making faces at them and they saw us but were trying to be secretive so i turned back to Phil. David drumming on that song was too cool. All of them did great and I had to laugh watching David drum because I kept thinking Kyle is backstage probably freaking out worrying if David is going to break his precious drumkit.
Dave time! Lights when down, we all rushed the stage, er well the barricade. It was metal so no one was going to break it down which was fine it wasn't too big of a gap. I ended up maybe 2 or 3 people away from the barricade with these 2 girls, one of whom was a huge Andy fan so she was so happy when I let her in front of me a little bit. Rachael took all the pictures (which are uploading) I didnt take any because I was too mesmerized and focused on them. They are just amazing to watch and I forgot I had a camera with me. I'll divide this by song because the setlist was CRAZY. No one knew what was going on. ADAM in the middle threw everybody it was crazy and hilarious.
Heroes: amazing and epic as always. I've gotten it at all 3 concerts and he came over to my side of the stage and we freaked out. The entire band was on fire right from the start and you could already tell it was going to be an amazing show. Monty was too cute mouthing all the words (he mouthed almost every single song it was really sweet).
WOHWWS: I freakin love this song and when they started I screamed soooo loudly I got glares from the guy next to me (dude it's a rock show chillaxxx). I don't know how he was surviving the heat in that gray hoodie nor do i remember when he took it off. I'll go back through video. You could hear Neal pretty well from my side, you could obviously hear Andy extremely well from my side. Kyle's drum solo blew me away. I had been waiting to see this since they started mixing it in and let me tell you that guy is gifted. It is 10 times better live than on video. I could see him counting and he had a huge smile on his face the entire time. I luckily had a perfect un-dave-obstructed view of Kyle during his solo and it made me so so happy to see him doing what he loves. The guys were all having a really good time it was very cool.
Declaration: confused me because I started counting songs and this was only number 3. I always like this song and I was a good fan and clapped where i was supposed to and cheered where I was supposed to lol. It was an edgier version than I remembered though which was cool. I've heard it 3 times live and all 3 times it was different. Oh! this was the chicken banter. Ok yeah that was hilarious because well the chicken people were hearing a guitar tuning and that's just freakin funny. His face as he was telling it was great and I could see TC and Johnny on the side of the stage just cracking up as he was telling it.
LOTM: My friends allll know this is such a personal song for me and I am in love with it. I squeal everytime i hear it on cellcast and cry when i hear it live. well I got it live for the 2nd time (1st at Dickinson where i cried and Dave saw me and cocked his head at me) but this time he said it was LOTM as i was jumping up and down and I just stopped jumping and said oh my god and then Andy started playing and I was in heaven. I think this is when I sent the pinch me tweet and I had Coolshades and NleighH pinching me (thank you both hehe) This was when I got my 1st Andy smile. I was watching him and he looked up and I gave him this huge smile and he smiled not alot but just enough right back and i think i started crying again or something I don't know.
Barbasol: INSANE holy crap. this crowd was small, spread out and very very mixed. My side was really rocking hard by the 2nd song so we were set. Me and the girl next to me counted down really loud and were rocking out the whole way through and wow was that a hot version of this song. umm yeah beats Duluth by a mile sry guys.
KOTN: FINALLY i get this song. takes me 3 shows but I finally got it! I screamed soooooo loud when Kyle started his drumming. I think I bounced about 10 feet in the air. the Hotel California part i admit i sang along to very loudly because well because i could. He was really working the stage which was difficult because the size of it was really weird. We were all so spread out he had to run from one end to the other. (I'll mention now I made a setlist on a piece of paper before I got to the show of what I wanted and so far, got everything I asked for, i was slayed)
Mr. Sensitive: hard edge to it. I really thought he was going to beat his guitar into the ground. the harmonies were gorgeous and I love hearing this song, it's one of my favorites. So again, I was bouncing 10 feet in the air. It was at this time I noticed the place smelled like cows too. just sayin.
TIB: My ultimate song. It was amazing to hear this. I had been hoping for it and i got it! i think this is the point where i officially died. The lighting was beautiful as Shaynia noted during this song. The band played with such emotion that you could feel it in the audience. Tears in my eyes I mouthed all the words along with Andy. Monty glanced over at my section briefly and then kept playing. I really like him he's cool. This song was just...perfect. no other way to describe it. I was quiet, didn't cheer during it because I was so fascinated and flying so high that I had no voice.
IDIFY: I told the girl next to me to get her camera ready for an amazing shot of Andy. This song was really really cool. I liked watching each member individually do their own thing on this song and Kyle's voice was in fine form and his mic was up really loud which was cool. When they came to the edge of the stage at the end the girl next to me and I went insane. This was the point where we screamed so loudly Monty looked down at us and laughed a little. David is an amazing guitarist and so is Neal. Hell they're all talented in their own right and this song really showcases each of them. Loved being able to hear the new version. I was still flyingggg haha
Light On: Andy the multitasker! holy crap he does a lot in that song I can't imagine keeping up that much lol. The crowd sang along a bit, I was definitly the loudest and proudest on my side and the lady in front of me was annoyed with me singing along but I just said well David asked us to!
ADAM: Ok here is where I got really confused. By now I figured out that TIB was added at the last minute. But i counted and there was no encore yet or anything so having this song at this point in the set was weird only because my other 2 shows were closed with it in the encore. Very nice to hear it again, I love watching Dave work the stage, he did a really good job and this crowd was really spread so it wasn't easy. He literally ran from one end to our end and when he was in front of me I sang along at the top of my lungs. I flashed my family friend's cancer charity bracelet in the air and he nodded towards it a little and smiled and kept doing the woah woah's and I just sang along in honor of those I lost and of those he lost.
SA: I squeed sooooo loud i think i burst an eardrum! Holy crap 2nd time hearing it live! 1st time was with the port o pottie incident. There was no way off the stage unless he felt like jumping 6 feet. I like this song it made me bounce up and down and i watched Neal a lot during this one for some reason. He's amazing to watch and I tried to just take it all in 1 more time.
CBTM: COOLIE i thought of you during the glory note. He let us sing a lot which was awesome and my section was really into it and soooo not led by me hehe. He seemed genuinly touched that we sang along because this was not a very very loud crowd. My section and the center were but not the rest so the entire place echoing with us singing this part was very cool. Have I mentioned I love Andy? During his and Kyle's glory note he had the biggest smile on his face and that made me get the biggest smile on my face so when he looked out as he was glory noting i waved and jumped up and down and pointed at him and he smiled even more and kept glory noting and singing. The people on my side were true Andy fans so whenever he came to the front he was met with insane cheering and loved every second of it.
OK that is my recap. I loved this show. I didn't want it to end. If there was any doubt, these guys are so happy to be where they're at it's insane. oh! when he thanked the crew I looked over at TC and clapped with my hands pointed at them and so did the rest of my section and he seemed to think that was cool. No buses but Fire Tornado thought it was fun to make fun of us with their band sign and stuff. Tisha and Skychiefs I loved meeting you 2 you are the nicest people ever! had so much fun! I cannot wait for my next show whenever it may be.

yay!
awww coolie you're too sweet! one of these days you, me and Nleigh are going to a concert together. that would be the coolest ever. I was amazed at how many were Andy fans just because we were in PA. the girl next to me was too sweet. me and someone else even helped her onto a chair so she could do hearthands for him lol.
this stage couldn't be too rushed because of the barricade but man that barricade got rushed. luckily i noticed everyone starting to move toward the aisles and went along with them and ended up as close as i did. being short and able to weave through people helped too : )
We are going to have to get someone to hold your head so you don't look away. He is one of the most expressionable (i may have just made that word up) singers it's too sweet watching him smile as he sings. don't look away he wants you to look at him. plus I'm sure he remembers the picture frame and would probably be able to recognize you a bit.

Infectious Joy!
Whew! Feels like I just ran a marathon after reading that energetic recap! LOL! I think I'm out of breath from just reading.
I'm SOOOO glad you had such a great time. And SOOOOO glad you showed Andy the LOVE and that he acknowledged you!
Judging from the videos I've watched thus far, York was one of the best shows yet. I'm sure all of the guys were really feeding off of the energy you and your section mates were giving them. So, thanks for helping to make it an even better show!
And thanks for the awesome recap. That was fun reading
Yay!
Awwww *I* thought of *you* during the glory note!!
That's great that there were so many Andy fans in your area. That makes me happy.
And yeah....part of the reason I bought front row tix for my fair show is so that even if folks rush the stage, I'll *still* get there first. LOL. Although the setup for my show doesn't really allow much room for stage-rushing. The front row is very close to the stage.
Congrats on getting an Andy smile. I have this "problem" of sorts where every time he even *begins* to look my way, I look away. I'm bound and determined to *not* let that happen at the AZ state fair, though.
What was up with the seat confusion? Did they just not understand what their tickets said, or did you guys have tix for the same seats?
