I decided to give this a shot and attempt the sensei's song. His lyrics are great and the guitar is pretty fun to play with it. I was lucky enough to jam in a high school band and record 2 songs. Never really got to the ep stage but it's cool to see people like David succeed in music. I plan on helping/ voting for this song reach its rightful spot at #1 on the charts.

I thought that since the blues ultimately gave birth to rock over the decades, might as well pay some respects.

So, I'm a poor college kid who doesn't own a webcam or a video camera, but I did put pictures up sang this song. (Trust me: Audacity is free, Windows Movie Maker came on my computer and you can get a cheap microphone at Wal-Mart) You should also probably know that I'm an Accounting major with no formal musical training whatsoever. Nevertheless, I did my best, and the pictures do tell somewhat of a story on a somewhat deeper level of philosophical thinking. haha jk

David, I love the new album. Keep on doing what you love because I love what you do!

So David exhorted us to "make this our own." I tried to think of how I might do that. First I considered singing Light On to the tune of "Crush"... but that really didn't work for some reason, lol.

I then thought of all times on AI that David would change up a song by slowing it down. So I thought, maybe I can "reverse-Cookify" this song by speeding it up. I threw in a dash of funk, and here's the result.

I know I am far from the world's best singer, but I had fun with this, and I hope y'all do too. And David, of course! I was really hoping that everyone who saw this would get a kick out of it.

My husband and I worked on this for the past week. It's all electronic so there was really no way for us to perform it live unless we just stood in front of the computer, pushed buttons, and twiddled knobs. That would've been no fun to watch. John did play guitar, but he recorded it into the computer and then synched it with the electronics. Hope you like robots!

My attempt sounds fantastic in my head. Outside of my head, not so much. Hopefully you can still groove to it!

Sorry about the undynamic visual. Think of it as a scene of domestic warmth and contentment (albeit with a cat family). And think of the voice as being through a telephone (and not through an old microcassette recorder) -- someone whose circumstances keep her away from home and who tries to ease the pangs of separation by singing out of tune to her loved ones.

Once you have that poetically poignant image in your head, there's nothing else to see, so step away from your computer and dance!

It's my second submission because the first one had a glitch.

Here's my brief version of Light On, my piano piano arrangement I made a mistake towards the end...where i messed up by G chord...*ooops* I intend to finish the whole song when I have the time.

I intended to do a guitar + vocal cover...But winter just struck and I have a sore throat. Maybe next time!

My daughter lives a busy life. Between theatre, dance for the stage, ballet, voice class, karate and tap, not to mention second grade responsibilities, there isn't much time for her teddy bear. Just incase if anyone is wondering why I don't have the VIDEO of me singing, it's because I recorded my voice REALLY early and I was still in my NON-madeup face...so I didn't want to look icky on camera so I worked hard to make that Light On picture that changes...
Anyway, as you can tell by my word nerd title I am in musical theatre and hope to make a career of it...

I can't remember ever falling this hard...

My 7-year-old son, Kaedon, sings all the time. Usually he will never sing if he knows someone is listening, but he loves David Cook. He decided to let me film him singing the chorus of Light On. He insisted that I post it on here for David to see. ... So David, I want to say thank you for helping my son come out of his shell. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
