Donated to David's personal team -- gotta get him to $50k!
Team: $89,915
Indv: $44,001
This thread has inspired me this morning so I just sent out the following email callout to all of my peeps:
Hi all!
I have a little request for you. You all know I love David Cook, right? Yeah, I thought so. Anyway, he is running in the Race for Hope, a 5k in DC, tomorrow to raise money for brain cancer research. His older brother Adam has been battling brain cancer for several years and this cause clearly is near and dear to David's heart. A quote from People Magazine for ya:
"He wants nothing from us at all," says race co-chair Jeff Kolodin, who contacted PEOPLE with the story. "This transcends fame and money and everything else. He just wants to help the cause."
He could have just donated money, or shown up to make a speech, but he is actually running this race (and he is NOT a runner!) depite the fact that he has been on tour non-stop and will fly in from a show in FL 5/2. I am so proud to be a fan, not only because of his amazing music, but also because he is a person of true character and integrity.
My request is this: If you could spare even $5 to help support David and this cause could you please go to the following link: www.braintumorcommunity.org, click on his photo and donate to his team? I have already done so and am proud to think that my little corner of the world can help David make a difference in the fight against brain cancer.
Thanks for your time!
~ Courtney
I've said it before, but I'll say it again . . . DCO really is all about the love and this thread proves it. Thanks to all who have donated, plan to run/walk, contributed their time and talents (love the avi Kitunen!), plan to walk in solidarity (great idea minstrel!), and generate positive energy on this board. Someone should print this thread out and bring it to David tomorrow to reinforce the positivity that he inspires in all of us. Love him and Love DCO.
