Alright! Thank u so much!! Smiling

I'm not sure..probably Eastern.

Thanks... Will that be eastern or western time?

I'm guessing it will be available at midnight. I know they've done that with singles.

Hi guys,

I would like to ask will the album go online at 12 midnight (U.S. Time) on 18th Nov? Very excited already.

"I clicked on the pre-order button, LO dowloaded, but shouldn't I get a receipt or something? I clicked on my account info and there isn't a button that says manage pre-orders. Grrr...."

Do it again.
It took me two tries for it to work properly, and it's easy enough to cancel one of you do end up with a duplicate.

#2 on iTunes albums

That happened to me. I had to reorder. Just ignore the already ordered, they are talking about the single. If you don't have a pre-order button the order didn't go through. A confirmation page should come up if the order was accepted.

UGH help me bc I will be so sad if I don't get extra bonus song .
I went and pre-ordered earlier today, It does NOT show up on my recent purchase info BUT there is no button that says manage pre-orders that I see.
So I assumed It wasn't ordered BUT when I tried to order again it said I'd already ordered it UGH
so do I assume it is ordered and for some reason is not showing up or what??

TIA

The album is up to #4 (well #4 on the home page but when you click to see the whole list of albums, it says #6)on ITunes and Light On is up to #46

Thank YOU, and you're welcome ... lol. Join the club. There are so many of us who have never been so completely taken by and involved about someone as we have been with David. I'm learning about all kinds of things online I never could have dreamed I'd even care about - charts, rankings, forums, videos, downloads ... you name it, I'll do it now if it involves David. The guy is just kind of ... magic.

"They aren't encouraging purchase of the single, they are using a free download of Light On instead (as an album track) to encourage purchase of the album. Of course we, David's fans, bought the single early on, even though we also planned on buying the album, since the album wasn't available for pre-order then. New potential singles' buyers now, who also might like to buy the album, have no reason to purchase the single, since they can have Light On as a free download with an album pre-order. Of course, those Light On downloads do not count in the sales figures as a single, unless someone cancels the album pre-order. "

And it was my understanding that the preorder, immediate downloads of LO do count as a single for now, but are later deleted from single numbers and counted in the album as whole when the album releases (unless the preorder is canceled, in which case it remains a single sale). The past sales figures for the single are never amended, however, so they sort of count as both- single sales now, album sales later.
Win, win.
This would also account for the rise of LO in the singles ranking over the last 24 hours since the album preorders have been functional.

If this is the case, then RCA's electing to do it this way allows LO the bigger numbers to stir interest in the album, and the album numbers for the long haul.
Fiendishly clever, although they aren't the first to manipulate numbers this way.

I wish iTunes or RCA would release a definitive statement on how these things work.
We have many theories but ho hard facts.

I wonder if the album will have a different Bonnus track if you buy it in Wal-Mart. That would be cool....the more songs the better.

Ardie, that sounds exactly right. iPod for the house and walking, CDs for the cars, then you can take David Cook everywhere ... it's all good! I pre-ordered the CD from Amazon way back, and I almost missed one of those emails to say Yes, of course, I want it, WHENEVER it is released. I also pre-ordered the album download on iTunes. Can't wait!!! (The album is at #7 overall on iTunes right now in the Top 100 Albums!)

I ordered on both iTunes and Amazon today!

iTunes for the immediate download and bonus track, and Amazon so that I have a copy for my car CD player!

Hey Angie, I'm with you!!

So--stupid question time for me. I pre-ordered the album on July 25th thru Amazon and have had to repeatedly answered their emails regarding do I still want this album---DUH!!!!!!! I have since bought an Ipod and was wondering if I pre-order thru Itunes, is it simply downloaded to my pc?? I have already purchased LO & TOML. I figure if I get the CD from Amazon and have Itunes download to the pc and then I can sync it to my Ipod all is good with the world.

p, ldynsrch posted a thread about the album going international. She found it for sale on Amazon in Canada, UK, Germany, Austria and Japan, though I am assuming that is the physical CD, not a download. Don't know if there might be others as well.

p:

i didn't purchase the single though i pretty much like LO. To be frank..I still like his Analog Heart but i'm not in the States and seems like it's been pulled out some time ago during AI. Just get from the Tube and I love most of the songs which are vocally strong and the instruments ..the drum the guitar..ae just soooo perfect..i love this type of music..Nevertheless, I'm not the type buying singles, I very much prefer to buy the album which has all the songs, and i think will be released really soon..hope it's available worldwide Smiling ..

Although it seems that the iTunes "Unavailable in the U.S." glitch for Light On is finally fixed, I don't think sales for the single will go up much, if at all, because of the album pre-order campaign. I'm seeing the manner in which the link is setup, and it demonstrates how RCA's approach is to sell albums, not singles. I didn't understand what people meant when they said that before; I didn't know how differently the promotion is approached.

They have an ad banner for the album on the iTunes home page stating that Light On is free immediately with an album pre-order as part of the album purchase. They aren't encouraging purchase of the single, they are using a free download of Light On instead (as an album track) to encourage purchase of the album. Many of us were confused when we got a free download of Light On when we pre-ordered the album, but as Anijsch just noted, this wasn't a mistake; it is done automatically. So that 5-day iTunes glitch that occurred BEFORE the album pre-order was announced hurt Light On more than we realized. It wasn't corrected until the album was already in pre-order, so those lost potential sales will likely never be made up.

That might help explain this interesting situation: Light On had moved up a little earlier today to #90, but now is at #94 overall in the Top 100 songs on iTunes, but the ALBUM has moved up to #23 overall in the Top 100 Albums, and it's only the second day in pre-order, still sound unheard except for Light On. I don't know how long it will stay that high, but I think that's pretty amazing for an album that no one has even heard yet. Of course, this will also slow down the sales for TOML (sooo close to platinum), since it is included on the album. Singles sales for both songs would be limited to people who are not going to buy the iTunes album download. Perhaps some people will buy the physical CD, and still buy the iTunes or Amazon singles' downloads, hopefully enough for TOML to reach that platinum goal?

If you pre order you get as a bonus LO to download directly. Because you can cancel your pre order before the release they charge you with the 99 cent, but I think the will reduce the album price, when the album is release.

So it is true the preorder button download LO, but that is no mistake.

If you have bought LO before you also have to ignore the message that you will buy it again, than the pre-order should work.

You can check it at your account informations.
When they show "manage your pre orders you had success.

I preordered mine from iTunes tonight. I can't wait to hear all of the songs and the bonus song too!

I sent in a note to Tech Support at iTunes. The pre-order button doesn't work. It thinks you are trying to order the single Light On. Nooooo. I definitely clicked on pre-order the album for $9.99. I know what I want, even if Apple doesn't!

whaaaaaaaaaaaaat? bonus SONG?!?!
im i hearing this right?
dang i might have it buy it on itunes and in the store! haha all well.

but is it really a bonus song?!?!?!?!

I'm pre-ordering it! Even though I'm going to buy the actual CD. But I have to have the bonus song, I always overpay for David Cook. Smiling

...and as soon as you order it, you can download "Light On," and "Time of my Life." You have to wait for the other tunes, but you'll get them as soon as the album goes on sale, and without a trip to the store!
