David being sick - will concerts be cancelled?
Average: 5 (2 votes)

Can we use this thread to talk about developments in David's current health and any news we get about the possiblity of cancelled concerts? I have tickets for Sunday night and would need to cancel hotel reservations and change plans if the concert was cancelled, and I don't know where to find out in advance. Has David said anything yet? I don't know his schedule this week, does he have a few days off to recover? I would dearly appreciate any news that anyone knows. Thanks.

(I hope this isn't put in the tour thread, as I never go there, and maybe lots of people don't go there and the news wouldn't be seen.)

At this time, there are NO plans to postpone or cancel any tour dates and there has been NO indication that it will be necessary.

Cheers! ~Lisa

ETA: To answer Waterfall's follow-up question posted down-thread, any announcement of that nature would likely come directly from Dave and/or his management and be relayed through any or all of his official social networking sites (e.g., Twitter, DavidCookOfficial, MySpace, FaceBook, etc.). ~L

Hi all, I know this is a really dumb question but when I iwitter nothing shows up, any help, please!!!!

Hey Word Nerds,
I have been thinking about David Cook a lot now since he's sick right now. Its time to send David Cook a Feel Better Care Basket. It's cold and flu season time now. I would like it if someone from here can put together a beautiful care basket for David Cook and deliver it to him at an upcoming show you are attending for me... That would be awesome! Here is what needs to be in the care basket:
Hand Santizers (lots of them)
Kleenex (lots of them)
Cold and Flu medicines
Throat drops (lots of them for his beautiful voice)
Funny Card

Since waterfall said "lighten up, folks!"... minor silliness to annoy or appease all factions.

Fans quiver with hope and concern,
And thumb wrestle over how they should yearn:
Ought DC to take rest
Or is toughing it best?
The compassionate wrangle with the stern.

When stuck with a throat full of gunk,
Air travel's a chore to be shrunk.
There's being a trooper;
Then there's making a blooper;
There's tough, and there's being a punk.

Glad to hear he has no plans to cancel. Some people were saying they would rather he took the weekend off and heal himself than to push through it. Such statements made me think that he was sicker than "a sore throat." Wasn't it tonsillitis? I simply wanted a place to post any news that might come. It's hard to find news when it's buried in long threads. I wasn't questioning David's commitment to his tour. LIghten up folks. I wasn't the one saying he should take the weekend off, as some others were. I simply wanted information, and a place to put it. Thank you.

If he is sick he should take the time off that he needs. I just wanted to know where to find the information. People do have to cancel concerts sometimes, and if he did, where would the information be posted? Would Lisa start a new thread so that we would see it right away? That would be great if so.

Meanwhile I hope it is just a sore throat and he feels better by the weekend. He's definitely a trooper and I think everyone knows that.

Yeah, let's remember here, that this it the guy who performed while having the flu, an ear infection, and bronchitis, although not all at the same time. I think he will be able to make it, he seems to be able to handle being sick pretty well, especially if it means keeping his fans happy. I am seeing him 3 times next week, and I am not worried at all. I know he will feel better and pull through for us.

David's latest Tweet:
@thedavidcook let's recap: BAD NEWS: still sick, although less so. GOOD NEWS: Conpletely caught up on House, ASIP, and Dexter... Life is goooooooooood!12 minutes ago from web

We are talking David freaking COOK here people! It would take a lot more to warrant canceling a show than a sore throat! He should have enough time to get all rested and better! Let's not jump to any conclusions and strat freaking out now!

David hasn't said anything yet on twitter in regards to any show cancellations yet. My guess is that it's going to be a wait and see process as to how quickly his meds are working. His next show is scheduled for Friday. The latest tweet that you see here on the home page is the last time he tweeted. If any dates are canceled, I'm sure that they will be posted on the home page here as they were back in late March/early April for the 2 shows that were canceled at that time.
