I'm Watching youtube videos from last night's show. I like"Hunger Strike" I feel like a bad fan because I never knew this song exsisted! Was it ever released?

"Hunger Strike" is a long ago song (about 1991 or 1992) originally sung by two guys who went on to lead two of the huge bands of the nineteen nineties--Eddy Vedder of Pearl Jam and Chris Cornell of Soundgarden.

The reason so many David Cook fans are into it is that there is an old video on YouTube of Cook, Andy Skib and Neal Tiemann doing this song in a small bar when they were in the band "Midwest Kings", before Cook went on Idol. Also, the crazy coincidence that Cook's cover of the Chris Cornell version of "Billy Jean" helped made Cook famous, this leading Cornell to offering Cook "Light On" is even whackier!

"Hunger Strike" is a Temple of the Dog song (Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder).
MWK covered it 'back in the day', only then it was Andy introducing David (who must have just joined the band at the time), and not the other way around. Kinda epic, really.
