I have to share...
I have this tendancy to quietly promote my favorite artists when I'm out shopping and such. Like when they have a new cd out, I grab the whole pile and put them in front of their competitors on the shelves and stuff like that... ps, you know what I'll be doing November 18th... Anyway, so I was at the Apple store tonight, and my hubby had to make a return, and we know that takes FOREVER... so I got bored. SO... I decided to put DCO on all of the laptops in the store and a few ipods and iphones as well... the applenerds were probably like wtf? after I left... but oh well.

I have to agree with what ohyesyes said completely. Setting up the laptops to play his music is a fun idea, but blocking out other artists' CDs with his will probably backfire on us. I refer to the thread titled SPAMALOT. It is possible to turn off potential customers and anger the store owners, who will have to put everything back in its proper place. I appreciate the thought, but suspect it will get us saddled with an unflattering label. It could also make us look desperate, and David, too, by extension.

I actually LOVE that idea!! The next time I'm in a store where I can do that, I'll do it too!!
AND - I'll use your CD tip in November also... I'll even try to place a few CDs in other sections of the store, LOL!! (Can you imagine it?? ... go to get dish soap - there's David!... go to get new socks - there's David!... go to get some batteries - David's there too!!) ~maybe people will see it as a 'sign' that they need to buy the CD... haha

I love the idea of setting up everything to show DCO or to play David; that doesn't hurt anyone. And I don't want to be a party pooper here. But I want to respectfully suggest that it may not be a great idea to hide other artists' cd's with David's. Please think about it:
1. Imagine if Archie's fans did this to David! We would NOT be happy. and
2. It could bring on anger at David and his fans from other artists who have as much right to be heard as he does. So I think that's unfair and doesn't seem to me to be something David would want his fans to do. Remember, in his words: we're all about love.

I've done the whole CD thing...last year I took a pile of Blake Lewis' album and put one in front of every single CD there...yeah I kinda ran out...and then they moved them back.

That's a great idea! I don't go out shopping much (and we don't even have an Apple store where I live), but if I ever go to a music store after November 18, I just might do that!

That is so funny. Thanks for giving me some ideas for Nov. 18'th! I will "help" all the stores keep their shelves in order. That is David Cook order- out and front in a very prominate place! LOL ! I have this vision in my head of the Apple store with DC everywhere. I like it! You need to make some more "returns" on Nov. 18'th! Although, I have this feeling that David is going to fly off the shelves!
LOL when I started reading the post ...i thought you were going to say you put the cd's in people's carts haha but still ..its Amazing! =D lol sounds like something I would XD Like the time I was in the Sony store with my friend and I went on the computer's and started blasting David's songs on youtube . The people there were just like looking at me hahah
That's funny! Yesterday I had to take my car in for servicing and, of course, I had my DC CD playing. I purposely queued up Light On so that when the service tech started the car it would play. I hoped he would hear it, like it and run out to buy it. When I picked the car up, it was several songs into Analog Heart so I know he must have heard at least some of it.
That sounds exactly like something I would do! I can never leave electronics untouched.
