WILL BE POSTED IN THE FIRST PINNED REPLY TO THIS THREAD

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey everyone! I thought I'd create a discussion thread for each stop of the Declaration Tour in an effort to keep the boards organized and help everyone more easily find info related to each event (and have a record of everything in one place for anyone wanting to look back on these events sometime in future). The following is how these threads will work (subject to change):
>> Thread pinned to the top of or on the main David Cook Discussion forum for 24-48 hrs
>> Thread moved to its respective regional Tour Talk forum
If, for some reason, a thread isn't moved right away, it will be eventually.
What should be posted here? Related local radio/tv/press, on-site reports/photos, live blogging, recaps, media and fan reviews, links to related blogs, event photos/videos, etc., etc.
Please post links to photos instead of embedding them and please disable graphic footers as this will make the thread easier to read (especially when live blogging). Regarding PRE-SHOW sound check and set list spoilers, please either PM me the info so that I may post it as hidden text in the first pinned reply or, alternatively, if I am not hosting or not here for whatever reason, then please post the spoilers to a blog and link that blog back to this thread in your reply.
As always, I welcome comments/questions, as well as info, via PM. Thank you. ~Lisa
LOL yeah I know my original seats weren't *bad*...they were actually some of the best seats any of us snagged up on the first day of ticket sales. But I'm spoiled and wanted to be even closer. Good thing that came out of that, though, was that I was able to give you those tickets. Laughing out loud
LMAO! Mary, your original seats were not bad at all! They were like the front of the middle so I was happy being able to get wide angle shots of everything, and they were definitely closer than we thought!! But yea, the mid section was REDONKULUS with singing. My sis was feeling crappy (she caught the flu that night) so she was sitting trying not to get sick. The people next to her were 'casual' fans. I think that was the case with most the people in my section. The security guy who was letting me film (and now that I know I could have gotten away with it, I shoulda just video'd the whole show!!) was LOLing at me because I was like bouncing up and down and yelling my head off singing. It was pretty awesome. XD
Kyranistos, I was singing my guts out, too. David was standing *right* in front of me during the singalong in Yo Arms, and I was BELTING it out, making sure he could see that I was participating. LOL
I think the front section did a fairly good job of singing, because I didn't notice anyone screwing up the last part of the chorus of LO. I could hear them singing it just as well as they sang the first half. It must have gotten screwy as you headed toward the back. Ha!
WOO HOO!!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! <3
Just dropping by to let you know the MP3 links are on: http://www.wordnerdhome.com/Declaration%20Tour/Declaration_Tour/091103.htm
Tiff I would sooooo love to meet up with you guys! Name the day and place, I'm so there!! Do you have a twitter? I'm pretty much on there more than I breathe. Let's definitely stay in contact!! As for Temecula, OMG I would KILLLLLL to be there if I could! But my sister's Bday is NYE (how unfortunate) and she likes to guilt trip me every year for making plans elsewhere on her Bday. And since I dragged her with me to MIX and the Fair (since the gals I had originally coming from Utah and Cali flaked out...), I totally owe her one, so I know how you feel about the family caravan coming to see the show.
I was kinda getting bad mojo from Andy too, so I hope we were wrong in our thinking he wasn't quite so happy that day. Though I must say the casual fans were lacking in their lyrical ability that night. XD That's enough to laugh at. David even made a comment on the dismal mumbling he heard whenever he let the audience sing along. I was screaming my head off in my section, I could actually hear myself, which was sad.
Nope, we stayed in our spots at the barricade. Smiling
Ok, I think I may have seen your mom at the end. Did you guys come over to the side when Dave came off the stage for ADAM?
Vegas Jordan, I was about 8 seats in from you, pretty much right in front of Andy's microphone.
Kelly,
:whispers: My name is Tiff, lol. I just use the Jordan because it's my son's middle name.
Yes, we will definitely have to be more prepared next time and meet up. Val and I don't really know many other people in Phoenix, so it would be great to meet up some time and hang out. I wish you were going to the NYE shows. We got lucky and scored 4th row one night and then 2nd row for NYE. I will look for your friend though. I have family/friends coming down from Central Cali for these concerts, so we're going to have our own mini caravan. Yeah..I'm not excited at ALL about that. Pfffffttttt.......
Lara, I posted this on DWOP but I'll say it again here. Why is it that you aren't Dave's personal photographer yet? Your pictures are the most AMAZING ones I've seen of him. You really do yourself proud and definitely have a talent that I wish I possessed.
Coolshades, I'm trying to figure out where you were in the front row. We were there too, on the aisle, Andy's side. It's funny how people see things differently. We were directly in front of Andy the entire show and didn't get the same vibe from him that you did. He was laughing with (or at) us and smiling quite a bit. He probably thought we were complete imbeciles...so the laughing at scenario may be a bit more accurate. Smiling
I can't wait for the MP3's for this show! I may even consider giving up my firstborn as thanks. He's 18 and pretty well trained most of the time. Eye-wink
Queen Maeva does complete MP3's of all the shows. But it usually takes her a couple of weeks to get them up. Keep checking here periodically.
"If I was in a band competing with Andy, I'd quit." -- Neal Tiemann
LMAO Lara, hahahahaha!! Ahhh, yea. I was standing during ADAM like, hey- I thiiiiiink he might just come in the crowd. You CAN so totally tell on his face before. Like, "heeeeeyyyyy audience! Me likey you! Let's be frienz, ok?" Then he appears on my left like, "WHAAAA? Why hello again, sir David. I just saw you like a few hours ago sitting in front of me. But we can hang out some more." LMAO.
PS- what's the ETA on the Phoenix MP3s? The ones I have sound like garbage blowing away in a wind tunnel. Sad I'm sure multiple people were recording stuff, I know I wasn't the only person!!! Anyone know of any good quality ones??
thank you all; i'm glad you're enjoying them! also, thanks for the comments on the actual gallery site - i wanted to say that over here because i don't know if you guys will see it over there. Smiling
oh, and yes, he definitely looked teary at the end of Daily Anthem. the best part, though, imo, was the look on his face before he went wandering into the crowd. LOL. i've seen him do that at a few different shows, and you can always see it coming. he gets this look like, "must. get. closer. to. audience. need. contact." and then next thing you know, he's hopping off the stage. i love it.
Livehead16, Thanks for the great pics of the concert. He looked a little teary-eyed after A Daily Anthem in pic 251 to the end. Hopefully we showed him enough love that next year he will do more than one concert in AZ. Keeping my fingers crossed.
HAHA! The more I see of Peek the more I like the guy. I wish he wouldn't hide behind those drums the whole show!! XD Too bad he's married, he's about the same age as me. *wink wink*
hi guys... i finally got my pictures posted from the show... maybe that'll help with some of the withdrawal pains? hope so. they're here: http://bit.ly/7t22s
the smoke was really tough that night. i think the person who runs the fog machine was rusty coming off break, LOL. but i got some really good ones of andy and kyle, so i'm happy. enjoy.
I share what some of you are feeling and this was only the first time on David's solo tour for me. I have to admit, I'm feeling much better than a few days ago though. Keeping busy helps..
"Hold on to anything at all."
We can indeed 'make believe' every day is November 3rd!!
What I love most out of the entire expirence is that Jordan, Paula, and I were all sitting together at the MIX show and didn't even realize it until now! (thanks, David, for leaving us all in a stupor!! Sticking out tongue) But even still, David brought all of us together!! And it seems that way with most the other WNs I meet. It's so amazing to me that ONE person can bring thousands together.
The story gets crazier, another gal who was there, Stephanie, went to the same high school I graduated from. So there was alum from my alma mater in the same room! INSANE!! Again, didn't know until she got a hold of me afterward, but still. It's crazy!!
We just need to make sure that next time we all do indeed meet up!!
Jordan, I haven't gotten tix for Temecula. I could only swing 2 shows the entire tour, so for me, Phoenix was the be all end all to all things David Cook for me this year. I wish I could go!! I know a couple of people who are going, one of my best friends is gonna be there NYE, so if you see her- make sure you say hello to Natalie. Smiling (she'll be the one in the, 'David Cook slept here' shirt!) HAHA!!
If you guys ever just want to talk, feel free to get a hold of me, let's be prepared for next time! HAHA!!!
It is like an addiction. I can understand why some people go to so many shows. I for one can't afford it and I have young kids and a business. So that means maybe one travel show and one home show.
I'm kinda glad in a way that I hadn't been or seen recent shows. I had no idea he did Lie that way all the way back in September. So I was so surprised and overwhelmed by that.
I deliberately don't watch shows on youtube that often because it hurts too much.
I did dream about David last night. I was going to a conference (for what, I have no clue) but he was letting me stay at his place. We were just hangin out like old friends. It was cool Smiling
*sigh*
11/3/09<----the most awesome day. Thank you for coming to Phoenix! It was worth every minute of wait.
Can I "Make Believe" every day is November 3rd?
.:Paula:.
I know you're right, coolshades, I did the same thing after Sunfest.
~The World I Know is a better place because of David Cook~
twik, that *always* happens to me the week after a show. I spend the whole day thinking about what I was doing at that time the week before. I think that's why the 7-day mark is when I usually start to crash after a show.
--
I'm feeling sad for many reasons today. Last night I said to my SO, 'This time last week I was seeing David Cook at the AZ state fair.' Seeing David & The Anthemic is a feeling like no other. Now I know what it's like to have an addiction.
~The World I Know is a better place because of David Cook~
Kelly,
I wish I would have known that was you that I was sitting next to at Mix. Everything was such a blur at that point, that I couldn't form a coherent thought to save my life. I know Val would have liked to have met up with you. Are you going to the NYE shows in Cali? We lucked out and got tickets to both, so it's making the 'PTDD' a little more bearable. I would still LOVE to be able to go back to last Tuesday. Especially for a "do over" of the picture. Lesson learned....I will NEVER tilt my chin down again when taking a picture. Gravity is not kind, lmao! :sighs: Has it really been a whole week?
--
'It is the purest sign that we love someone if we choose to spend time idly in their presence when we could be doing something more constructive.'
Ohhhh maaaan!!! It's been a week already!!! PTDD (Post Traumatic Dave Disorder) Setting in BAAAD! And to make matters worse, I'm having dreams about being at more shows. Sad WHY CANT IT BE THE THIRD AGAIN?!?!!?!? *cries*
It really helps having these concert threads to help relive the memory but I'm still feeling sad tonight remembering this time last week how excited I was feeling. Wow, it takes a week? I guess I'll make it though. We need to start a "Concert Withdrawal Thread." lol
--
"Hold on to anything at all."
I went into concert withdrawal within about 20 minutes of the show ending. Guess it was because I had no more shows left. But usually it takes about a week...so I completely understand what y'all are going through right now. You seem to crash all of a sudden and get depressed for awhile. It sucks. Sad
:Raises hand:
I'm with you guys. Post Dave Depression has set in, and now I don't know what to do with myself. That entire day is still such a series of "pinch me" moments and I will get the loopiest grin at the strangest times. I guess one of these days I should recap the actual show. Just.....too.....overwhelming, but in the best way possible!
--
'It is the purest sign that we love someone if we choose to spend time idly in their presence when we could be doing something more constructive.'
Here is the mp3 recording of the entire concert. Lady behind me (have recorder on chair) was singing CBTM sorry about that. If you know how to divide it all up have at it. All banter, songs and Neals guitar playing are clear. Enjoy.
Cookie4me_n_AZ,
I share your sadness. I can't believe it's been 6 days already.. It was an incredible show. How exciting for you to see David and Neal at the Unplugged Sessions.
I am looking forward to the next CD and hopefully the next solo tour!
Laughing out loud
This is a little late, but I just got back from Az last night. I didn't think that I would be fortunate enough to see David & The Anthemic again for a long time. How I ended up over 2300 miles away from home, in a state I've never been to before, is another story I promise to tell soon. It's a compelling story that gives testimony to what David wanted this site to be about: love, community, and the bigger picture.
Everyone has talked about the songs already, but I also wanted to say that Mr Sensitive was a very exciting opener to this concert. IDIFY was AMAZING! Bar-ba-sol was sexy as sexy can get. Lie was breath-taking and I loved that everyone respected David's wishes and were very quiet. Declaration and Heroes were very exciting. IJDIYAT was HOT! I loved that a lot of ppl were singing CBTM, and so did David. Every song was really great and David's voice sounded strong and clear. Loved that there were a lot of guys enjoying it, too. Loved that there were all age groups; couple to my left looked to be in their 60's, further over 70's, and to my right 2 women in their early 20's, kids, and everyone in between.
My main wish for this concert was to witness ADAM live, and when David said, 'This is A Daily AntheM,' I was so freaking happy there are just no words that can explain it! All I could do was to keep saying 'Thank you, David,' over and over again. This was such an up-lifting and exhilerating experience. I noticed so many ppl hugging and swaying during this performance; couples, friends, mothers and daughters. It's all about the love people. You can feel the love for this man; it's tangible. A man who we never even heard of a couple years ago; it is simply AMAZING! It's still hard to even wrap my mind around it. David & The Anthemic and their music are a gift to be cherished and thankful for.
I also want to say that seeing David is a high like no other I've ever experienced in my lifetime. David looks more gorgeous than ever. When he's on stage, doing what he loves to do, his physical beauty is mesmerizing, and his voice is intoxicating. *swoon*
The only disappointment is that I have yet to meet David and be able thank him for his life-changing music. I still cling to the hope that some day that dream will come true, but for now it remains just that; a dream.
~The World I Know is a better place because of David Cook~
Yes, except they didn't post the one of me and David only. They have the one with my hubby there too, but not my individual one. Got a call into the webmaster about it. I don't care if he posts it, I just want it for my own collection.
What a great day it was.
After calling the station and being told my picture didn't turn out....they finally found where a good copy of it was and put it on there!! Wow, I almost had a major coronary over that one!!
The fan pics from MIX are currently up on their site finally!!
