OCDCD(big time)
So I go back to receiving looking for our store manager who is named Shawn right? I ask the two fellas back there, "Have you seen David?" They just look at me like, "oh yeah she has totally lost it."
"Are you gonna answer me?" I ask. "Well Andrea I guess the million dollar question is 'Have you seen David? Are you seeing him right now? How many fingers am I holding up?"
"I didn't say David!" "YES YOU DID!!!" they say in unison. "Well I meant Shawn." I try and cover up quickly. I then go upstairs crawl under my desk in a fetal position and think WOW. Have I totally lost it? LOL (okay so the part about the desk is made up, but it is what I felt like doing.) Please tell me DCOers out there, has this or anything like this happened to you? Cause I just wanna hide if it has not. LOL

I called my oldest brother David instead of his real name! Can't believe I did that but I knew it was coming. I got it big time now!

Okay, so I have one (not quite as funny as some of yours, but, here goes)...
My two co-workers were talking about AI today, and the one (who's not really a DC fan, and who I'll call CW1) says, "Oh, I saw the DC video for CBTM yesterday...I LOVE that song!!"
And my other co-worker ( who I'll call CW2) says, "Yeah, Zara, how'd you like that ending..."
CW1: "....oh, yeah, where they kiss??!! I thought of Zara right away when I saw that..."
CW2:"...(laugh, snerk) yeah, Paul (her BF) made the comment 'Gee, I bet Zara LOVED that part...(laugh, snerk)'...and even CODY (her BF's son) said 'yeah, Zara probably wants to rip that girl's hair out...'"
So now my OCDCD has spread to my CO-WORKER'S BF and his SON who I don't even really know =P
I didn't know I was THAT bad lol =)
Lucy, you call your mom "David"?? Lmao!! And MusicalMorphine, I think that's so funny. I got a new phone yesterday, & I looked for that phone because of what you said. If it had been there I would have been so tempted to get it!! But it wasn't, so I got a Rant instead. I'm not sure I could afford the Cookie anyway lol.
But, in related news... I had my first (and only) shots a couple of weeks ago because my friends were dying to see me take one. I'm actually 22 now, but I don't like to drink. Anyway, I finally gave into the pressure. My first one was a Jolly Rancher. My second and last one? A Cookie Monster. =)
...And yes, I had to try it only because of the name. =p
no you are not alone! haha I loved the stories from you guys. I call my whole family David all the time. Especially my brother in laws and mom haha. I find my self now frequently thinking of peoples names before I say anything otherwise I just end up getting the whole eye-roll look from people lol.
Oh my God all of you are cracking me up!!!!! Seriously!!! It is such a joy to hear all of your stories, trying to convince myself that my story was not as bad as all of yours, but in reality it was!!!! I mean it is one thing to think and almost say it, but it is quite another to say it outloud and have people look at you you like you have two heads or something. Oh well. I am proud to have OCDCD. I can't get rid of it, it's gonna stay with me forever like luggage.
I haven't had any experiences like this (yet) but I was looking for a new phone a couple of weeks ago before I really got in to David and I was looking at the LG Cookie. Now I have to have that phone!
Plus, my mother is already getting sick of hearing about him LOL.
Lol! This thread is so funny... Well, today I was at the mall with two friends. One of them opened my phone to see my background is a picture of David at the UCM bus line. She looked at me like "What is this?" She doesn't know me well enough (yet) to know about my OCDCD, but she has an idea. I jokingly said, "It's my future husband!" I usually don't say that, but I was being silly. She gave me a strange look and said, "Dream on!" Then she started singing Danny Gokey's version of that song. I immediately (and quite defensively) replied, "That's not him!" I reiterated that he didn't sing that song, but she didn't seem to care lol. A few minutes later we were in the bathroom and what should be playing but "Light On"? I quickly looked around before shrieking, "It's my husband!" Then I noticed someone else was in there and was slightly embarrassed... Oh well. I still squeal every time I hear one of David's songs on the radio. =) Yes, I have OCDCD and "I'm alright with that." =)
Well a few weeks ago I was looking for a new wallet at Kohl's! One was a holographic rock-n-roll one and the other was a softer one that looked like a crossword puzzle. I bought the rock-n-roll one, but I told my sister, " I liked the other one too though, cause it was all soft and squishy and reminded me of David." Her response, "Why cause its soft and squishy?'" hahahaha no, cause it was a crossword puzzle!
And Sunday a lady came in at work and wrote a check, so I had to check her ID. Her last name was Cook, which I've never seen around here. It made me smile. It made me tell her that I had that name on my bracelet and she wanted to know if it was my maiden name. I said no, its for David, the winner of last year's AI. She knew of him and told me he was a "cutie!" I think after she said that I had the biggest, stupidest goofy grin on my face!
gemini_gal....Everything reminds me of David too! I feel like with almost every conversation I am holding back saying something about David... you can only talk about him so much and people think you are crazy and obsessed! That's what I love about this site... I fit right in!!!

I'm a secretary at a law firm, and I ALMOST buzzed one of the attorneys and said "David Cook's on the line" instead of the client's name (1st name NOT David, last name Cook)!!

for Mother's Day my 3 grown kids bought my ticket to see David at Ameristar in K.C. a couple weeks ago....and my two little grandsons gave me a flower pot with their handprints on it....and a little paper flower sticking up out of it with David's picture on it!!!! I have it on my desk and look at it about 200 times a day. And I know exactly when and where the picture was taken....which kinda made my family cringe....but what the heck, they're the ones who gave it to me!

I forget which Youtube clip I was watching but someone had given David a glass of sweet tea with a straw and he said, "This reminds me of something a comic said once - it's hard to look like a bad ass when you're sucking on a straw." I can't see a man with a straw now without smiling.
Lmao, amherrington & pweller!!! That's too funny... I almost wish something like that happened to me lol. I haven't called his name either, but yeah I'm always goofy when anything that reminds me of David comes up... Which is a LOT. =)
OK, it just happened... I was about to say "I'm learning to play the guitar" but instead typed "I'm learning to play the David" LOL! What I meant to say was, I'm learning to play the guitar, inspired by DAVID of course & the Dr. I'm learning Light On right now, from the Vh1 Challenge video, & today I asked a friend to guess what song I was learning to play first... from the first three chords I've learned lol. She guessed on the second try. =)
Haha that's a good one;-) I've had a couple of moments. I, like DRC_PLT, will see little things, hear something and start laughing; this happens at school and my friends know I love David and they give me the weirdest looks and laugh and say "David Cook, right?"
Unfortunately it hasn't happened to me yet but I guarentee that it will. However, I think I might have the start of OCDCD! Everytime I talk about David or anything comes up about David I completely loose all my senses! Then I get funny looks from my family, especially Mom, and others as if they're saying, "She's really Cooked!" Get it...Cooked! LOL! Or I get that "She's lost it big time" look. But other than that, I know how you feel.

Oh yea! I went to Milwaukee to watch my son-in-law who is a Milwaukee Cop named Shawn bowl on a men's league a few weeks ago and he got a strike and I well out "Yea David!" Boy did I get the looks from him and my daughter! LOL! Opps! Tehe!
