Raine Maida co-writes Declaration with David .... (???)
I heard some rumors all around that Maida co-writes Declaration with Dave.
I think this might be true for 3 reasons:
1 - Maida co-writes with David some songs of the album.
2 - Maida is one of David's idols (maybe the greatest) - nothing more predictable than release one of their songs first !
3 - The song is very OLP's and Maida's style (in my oppinion Of course !).
Anyone has some info about this ?[/

Hmmm, I think I kinda suck at the "guess the cowriter" game. The only one I've gotten right so far is Cook/Maida/Permanent. I can see how you can connect the dots from, say, JR to Iris to Declaration now in hindsight. But the structure of the lyrics still reminds me of OLP, too. ANYway...

David talked about how he and Rzeznik wrote Declaration in a recent radio interview, check out the radio interviews thread here at DCO.
Of the songs David and Raine together, so far we know of two: Heroes and Permanent.

True. I could hear some possible infulences of RM/OLP in it. Hadnt thought of that but that is a possibility. I said it would surprise me if he co-wrote with anyone for Declaration but Maida would make sense.

I had wondered if this might be one of the songs RM and Cook cowrote. I could hear both RM/OLP and Cook/AH songwriting influences. But I haven't read any official sounding speculation to that effect.
