New Challenge for Us ALL!! Twitter Peeps! Let's Bring David Up to 100,000 Followers by 12/31/09!!
How About We Finally Do Something for the Man Who is Always Promoting Everyone Else Like Opening Acts, Friends, Other Artists you Name It David is always helping out others!
Now that @thedavidcook is over 75,000, let;s see if we can help get him up to 100,000!!! WOOTS
Attach the @thedavidcook to nice pictures or videos or articles about David and maybe reasons why people should follow him! Pass the word around to all the other sites, among your friends, to other artist's sites like @phil_marshal and @ryanstar etc... asking that they help in this cause! There have been MANY instances lately where the power of the David Cook Twitterverse Fandome has been called upon to help other artists with trending and getting followers. Now lets see if we can do this for David!

I think this deserves a BUMP.
Great idea...and very do-able with all the attention he will get with the 2 showings of Carrie's special and the R&K show. Maybe we need to make a big push for followers on the days around those shows.
As always, I am on the team...doing as much as I can.

I think with all the television stuff headed our way, and the new fans David is picking up from the Script, and will continue to as the concert progresses that this will be a piece of cake. It might take a couple of trending parties, but everyone seems to love those anyway. Of course Patti, you know you can count me in. I'm always game for helping David any way I can.
I have been, and will be a little absent the rest of this week trying to save up my strength for my Dallas concert this Sunday. It's my first and I can't wait. As has happened the last two times I bought tickets to see David, my health is not great right now. My back has decided to act up really bad again, but if I have to go in a wheelchair, I will NOT miss this one. I understand that the minute you see David all thoughts of anything go out of your head so I'm counting on that to get me through.
By the way, cougar4COOK, Happy Belated Birthday. Mine was actually on the 26th so we are both Scorpios.
Hey Patti, I really don't think it's going to take much effort on our parts, as so many have said before..
David sell's David better than anyone ever could!! But I do have a few more friends that I know will add to the count.
BTW: Juliann mentioned the 100,000 to me a the other day, thought it was a good idea.

I'm sorry I wasn't able to join the celebration yesterday evening when we made the goal. I was stuck in bed all day with a bad back and although I can read the boards and get to DC's twitter from my cell phone, I can't post any comments anywhere. I looked up the number on DC's twitter page and it was 70,005. I wanted to get up and come in here with y'all but since I am nursing this back so I can go to the Dallas show next Sunday I just had to wait until lunchtime at RL job today.
Yes Pweller, David would probably have made it on his own, but I love the voting and tweeting and recruiting and following and everything else I do for this amazing young man. It is just a very small way for me to try to pay him back for some of the joy he has brought into my life. I don't tweet a lot, but I vote like a mad woman on anything I can.
Yep! We Rawk! i know David is an awesome young talent and would get there anyway but Us Guyz are just helping things along and with the voting and requesting and all the other things we are just encouraging the rest of the world to discover this young artist and his band a little quicker! RAWK ON!

WooHoo!!! Only 397 to go. I have been doing the best I can. I posted on the Script's message boards at VH1 to follow David and posted the link. I also posted the link on the DC and the Script thread on DC's message boards there. I have recruited about all I can from RL so that is all I could think of left to do that might help.
it would be GREAT if THIS SITE would put his twitter connection at the TOP of the front page....also on his MYSPACE and FACEBOOK pages. (knocks on webnerds heads).

I think he wil lreach it by 11/03 / just by us helping trending for him.I try to remember to tag my tweets with @thedavidcook.I wish everyone would. He can make this goal on his own and a little help from us trending should do it. : )
Creating fake accounts is SO misleading and cheating. It hurts DC in the long run, because when people follow with multiple accounts, (like, say, certain other AI alums), people expect single downloads to be commensurate with twitter followers and raise eyebrows when they aren't.
The guy is funny and charming and has a lot of interests that might attract people. He doesn't need a hard sell.
If you want to find more followers, then go look up Twitter aggregators that he might fit and suggest they include him. (Don't bother with CelebrityTweet; it's already been suggested to them and more requests, at least this week, will probably just annoy them.)
I don't see a need for any hard pushes if he has less than 1,000 followers to go. He picks up a few hundred a day just from regular tweeting.
peggymgr Yes I have done all of that stuff! You are GREAT! I agree with what you say about maybe on Friday or so if it's looking like we need more help we could organize a recruiting party! We would need a date and time and then maybe You could start a thread on it? That thread could be made on Thursday letting all know about it so they can be ready!

As of just now David is at 69,027 followers. That leaves only 973 new followers and with the rest of today and 5 days left. I know we can do this. Maybe a trending project for Friday night or Saturday morning would be an option if we aren't close enough by then. What do you think Patti?
I know I can get 3 more before I leave the office today and 2 more definites tonight. I've thought of setting up another account using my work e-mail address and a bogus name just to give him another follower. Have any of you done that?
