What's your sign? ( For David)
I went to the concert in Phoenix on 11-3-09. It was incredible! I will never forget the excitement and joy I felt. My only regret was I had planned to make a sign for David which would have read "You Inspire Me." This is how David has made me feel over this past year. He has inspired me to create again after so many years of feeling lost.
What would your sign be using three words?

I'm sort of in the anti-sign camp....unless, like Jeannine said, you make sure not to hold the sign up all night and only hold it up during the banter when David can actually see it. Otherwise, they're just an annoyance to everyone behind you.
If I ever did make a sign, I'd probably make one that said "Hey David, I'm four days older than you are." Just because I'm stupid and couldn't think of anything "deeper" to say. LOL

I love your sign! Made me smile. I think we all can indentify with it.
I also agree David does like signs and he likes to read them if he can. As I stated in my post I regret I did not bring mine with me but I didn't know how well we'd be able to see David how well he could see us. I could have kicked myself when I saw how close we were to the stage! lol
Making signs is just another way (IMO) of showing how we feel about David. He said at the begininng of IDIFY he could think of no better way to express his gratitude to us through song. Creating signs are one way we express ours.

Can I just go with two words? Mine would be "Nice Assets". Sorry, couldn't resist. I don't mind signs either. My son's made it up to the stage in Allegan and we got it backed signed by Neal and David. As long as people aren't holding them up while he is in the middle of a song I am good with it. I think he enjoys seeing the love shown back to both him and the guys.

Whether you approve of signs or not, it appears that David likes them and gives him something to play off of. If they're held up for a short time, not the entire concert, they're not so annoying. I held up a sign during the AI tour and he took it and left it on the stage for his entire set. It made my day and it's still a great memory for me.
Did the sign once, won't do it again, but I have lots of ideas, some funny, some heavy. One of them is what my signature says:

I only have one sign, but is more than 3 words...this is the only one I ever used, and he saw it...it is sitting here in the corner waiting for next year....

(Although I did want to make the "You Inspire Me" sign and hold it up at an appropriate time). I was in a good area where I think David may have been able to see it.

I hate to be a downer, but I feel I have to add my couple of cents. Signs are a pet peeve of mine. Don't get me wrong....if the person with the sign tastefully holds it up at a point in the show where the houselights are up and he can actually see, I have no problem. He does have moments during a show for such things. However, I really don't have much patience for those who make signs and hold them up in the dark all the time blocking those behind them. He can't see them and we can't see him or anyone else. That is when I am sad that he sign concept every got going on AI. Funny thing is that they actually gave us signs at one of the finals. They wanted them around. Maybe then it is fine, but I am not all that enraptured with them at normal concerts.
